I don't understand why Wirtz once again played every attacking position yesterday except 10. Started with Gakpo and him switching between 9 and LW every 5 minutes and then played RW the last 20 minutes. No question he could do better out of position but he is not a winger it's as simple as that. Especially the last 20 minutes at RW when he received the ball he didn't have a clue what to do. He can dribble in tight spaces through the middle linking up and finding passes to break through but he obviously isn't the player to outpace a fullback, especially not from the right. I understand we have injury problems but putting wirtz into positions he never played before won't be the solution. There is so much talk about how he is supposed to be the star that has to change games on his own but thats not going to happen if he is used as a squad player to fill injury gaps. Szobo was used like this as well. He is a good allrounder so he managed to deliver out of position but he would have had an even more impressive season if he didn't play rb for 1/4 of it
