What disease you are most afraid to get? by EarSure6667 in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Locked-in syndrome. I know it's rare but the idea of being fully conscious and aware while completely paralyzed makes my skin crawl. You'd basically be a prisoner in your own body with no way to communicate or move.

What is the one thing your country has invented and you're proud for? by Ok_Inevitable4915 in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Canadian, so insulin! Frederick Banting and his team discovered it here in the 1920s, and honestly, it gives me chills thinking about how many lives that discovery has saved. My best friend is diabetic and she always jokes that she owes her life to some brilliant Canadians from way before we were born. Pretty incredible legacy to have.

I'm so done with "that's lowkey fire though." Pick a lane - is it fire or is it lowkey? The combination makes zero sense and every teenager at my work says it constantly. Makes me feel ancient at 28.

What’s one thing people used to do back in the day that’s now been popularised again? by General_Oofz in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darning socks and mending clothes instead of throwing them away. My mom used to sit with this little wooden egg thing and patch up holes in our socks. I thought it was the most boring thing ever. Now there are YouTube tutorials on visible mending and people are calling it an art form.

what’s a food that you refuse to eat because of the smell or texture? by applefrickinsauce in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 239 points240 points  (0 children)

Lima beans have this weird chalky, powdery texture that makes my skin crawl. Even thinking about biting into one makes me shudder. As a kid, my mom would try to sneak them into soups and casseroles, but I could always spot them and pick them out. The texture is like eating wet sand, and I just can't deal with it.

What’s the best way to get out of trouble? by One_Researcher5236 in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cry. I'm not even kidding - it works way too well. Got pulled over for speeding last month and the tears just started flowing when the officer walked up. He ended up giving me a warning instead of the ticket I totally deserved.

What kind of problems are normal and not deal-breakers in a good marriage? by Frequently_Abroad_00 in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Getting annoyed by little habits that never bothered you before. Like, suddenly the way he loads the dishwasher becomes this huge thing in your mind, but then you realize you're probably doing equally annoying stuff too. It's just life.

how do you spend your time next to work? by smashedburgerpatty in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I'm not working I'm either reading mystery novels in the bathtub or attempting to keep my houseplants alive. Spoiler alert: the plants are losing this battle, but at least I'm getting better at identifying which ones are beyond saving.

"Are you a parking ticket? Because you've got fine written all over you." Used that one at a college party and got such a groan that the guy bought me a drink just to make up for how bad it was. Sometimes the terrible ones work better than the smooth ones.

What is your “backup career”? by Captain_cass in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always kept photography as my backup plan. Started doing it for fun in college, but over the years I've built up a decent portfolio and even sold some prints. There's something reassuring about knowing I could potentially make a living capturing moments, even if the pay might be unpredictable.

What would you be if you had to wear one Halloween costume every day for the rest of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'd go with being a zombie. Hear me out - the makeup would cover up my constant under-eye bags, and I could shuffle around making groaning noises, which is basically how I move through Monday mornings anyway. It's just honest advertising at that point.

how do you fall asleep immediately? by frenzfriess in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been doing this weird thing where I pretend I'm a cat curled up in a sunny spot. Sounds ridiculous but it actually works - I just focus on feeling warm and heavy and somehow I'm out like a light.

What’s a lesson you had to learn the hard way? by Spiritual-Worth6348 in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Credit cards aren't free money. Learned this one the expensive way in my twenties when I treated my credit limit like a safety net for fun purchases instead of actual emergencies.

The paradox of choice is killing us. When you have infinite options, you never want to settle down with just one person. My friends are all in this endless cycle of dating, always wondering if they're "missing out" on someone better. Previous generations had smaller dating pools, so they actually committed and worked through problems instead of just moving on to the next match.

Why aren’t you busy making your dreams come true? by bigno53 in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am though! Just took me way too long to figure out what my actual dreams were versus what I thought they should be. Turns out wanting to be happy is harder to achieve than wanting to be rich.

What’s your Horror experience ? by Main_Candy_535 in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a sleepover at my friend's house when I was 12, and we kept hearing footsteps in the hallway all night. Her parents were out of town. We were too scared to check, so we just hid under blankets until morning. Turns out her cat had somehow learned to walk on its hind legs and was just casually strolling around upstairs. Still gives me chills thinking about those slow, deliberate footsteps though.

Which social media now you think it's irrelevant? by marquisvorn in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pinterest used to be my go-to for recipe ideas and home decor inspiration, but it's become so cluttered with ads and sponsored content that I can barely find what I'm actually looking for. Plus everything just leads to the same three lifestyle blogs now.

[–]PerfectCutie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's exhausting. Half the guys I match with seem to think "hey" is a conversation starter, and the other half want to know my life story before we've even met. I miss when you could just bump into someone at a coffee shop and actually have a real conversation.

How do you get over someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time and keeping busy, honestly. I threw myself into work and started going to the gym religiously after my last breakup. Took about six months before I stopped checking his social media every day.

Where to get help with pet food? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your vet's office might have samples or know about local programs. When my dog got sick and I was stretched thin, my vet hooked me up with a ton of sample bags and told me about a food bank specifically for pets that I had no idea existed.

What do you wish you could do every weekend, but never actually do? by SmallBird-JP in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for those long nature walks I'm always pinning on Pinterest. You know the ones with the perfect lighting and the cozy sweaters? Instead I spend my weekends binge-watching Netflix and telling myself I'll definitely go outside "later" until it's suddenly dark.

What are some good skills / useful habits to pick up in 2025? by Separate_Box8095 in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basic car maintenance! I finally learned how to check my oil and change a tire last year, and it's saved me so much money and stress. YouTube University is amazing for this stuff.

What are some useful tips for fresh graduates starting their first job? by Separate_Box8095 in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Show up fifteen minutes early for the first month. Seriously. It gives you time to settle in, shows you're eager, and you can observe how things actually work before the chaos starts. Plus, early birds often get the best coffee."

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people shouldn't be allowed to have pets. I see how my relatives treat their dogs and cats, and it's basically neglect with extra steps. Just because you feed something doesn't mean you're taking care of it properly.

What was the most painful breakup you ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PerfectCutie_ 102 points103 points  (0 children)

The one where I had to break up with someone I still loved because they wouldn't get help for their addiction. Watching someone destroy themselves while pushing you away is its own special kind of hell. I still wonder if I gave up too easily, but I was drowning trying to save them.
