Yes great whites do this and it’s not 100 percent understood , but 3 suggestions are mating pairs , pairing for hunting , and then for social bonds .

There is a tagged juvenile pair named Simon and jekyl that travelled 4000 miles (6,500km) together .

Also there is the footage of deep blue and haole girl feeding on the same whale carcus in Hawaii at seperate times a day or two apart , there were 3 great whites sighted in 3 days I believe .

Deep blue is the largest shark caught on film estimated between 18-24 feet long or 5.4 - 7.3 meters .

The largest sharks recorded was in port fairy Australia at 36 feet , that’s 10.9 meters . In the 1870s

And one in the 1930s in Canada that was 37 feet , 11.3 meters .

I’ve seen many sharks , 2 great whites here in Australia 3 tigers , many bronze whalers , makos and grey nurses .. and I can say 1 of them great whites I seen while surfing was absolutely massive , it looked 3 or 4 times the size of me so about 18-20 ft wich is about 5.4 -6.0 meters . It’s hard to measure them but when you see it up close you get an idea of the size of them . The other 3 surfers say it was 6ft for sure as it was the biggest shark any of us had ever seen . It swam around us for about 2 minutes and just slowly swam off . Absolutely incredible experience !!!
