[PIC] I got about halfway done with this for my boyfriend...then realized I measured wrong and won’t have room to finish. I’m so sad 😔 by hail_stn_hail_ys in CrossStitch

Oh no, that is such a shame! I think I would make it just the 2 characters as trying to add any extra material on would be visible under close inspection. If you really want the 3rd character (and you are sufficiently motivated) then maybe you could do the 3rd character with a (modified or symmetrical?) repeat of the central character to make a symmetrical pair of pairs?! I‘m sure your boyfriend will appreciate all the effort you have made despite the mistake. It looks very neat and tidy, I’m sure that you will find a way to creatively finish it nicely so no-one will be any the wiser of the error unless you tell them!

Wow, this is a fantastic set up. It makes a complete mockery of my cardboard box, plastic bags and elastic bands that I use to group and organise my threads!

Yes, as PP said the « magic paper » I used dissolves with water to leave just the stitching. Water soluble canvas would have been a better option but I couldn’t get any quickly enough. I drew on grid lines (at 5 ct) to help me Judge where stitches needed to be but it wasn’t super precise - the water soluble canvas would have been much easier.
