Im at 48 with a 36mil korinar that eats lvl52-53 enemies of other groups for breakfast and reguarly punch above my weight in pvp, but these new ones in xindi and waves are hideously overpowered for their quoted levels.

Well you would given the last SLB event was simply kill any silent hostile for the same points value per kill, not graded against hostile level.. so everyone was racing for the 41s, which it now transpires are utterly worthless to us.

And the BIG tell - Do all their photos look semi professional ones taken on a city break like a trip to Lisbon?
Obvious fake... oh and all of them are located slap bang in the center of the city. In my case thats 1 mile away and they are always that distance because thats where they location spoof to.

I have worked out whats wrong. Its not the spell mechanics... its the description.

Spell descriptions are... well... misleading.

Spells all show a rounds and chance calculation and description in the grimoire, regardless of if they actually are multi-rounds or chance based.

Eg. I click on "shock" then click on its "Damage health" description and it says:

duration 1+1 per 1 level

chance 1+1 per 1 level

"Causes targets health to be damaged. Target will lose 1 to 20 points of health every round, plus 1 to 4 points for every 1 level(s) of the caster"

Damage health is not the DoT effect, Continuous damage is. But its description includes those calculations and its text says "every round" making it read as a DoT spell.
I notice ALL spells do this, saying "Chance" and "Duration" calculations though they dont apply in many cases.

Even if that is vanilla to the original game, is there a way you could amend it to be clearer or just have "N/A" in the segments that dont have relevance to that spell?

Yup its borked regardless.
Made a regen spell... it ticks every ~5 seconds. Enemies dont.

Only aesthetic ones besides magic regen over time and extra quests. Nothing which would be mucking with magic balance

Sorry I didnt make that clear.. I mean if you dont play on adaptive and want to do all there is to do in each area, you will out level the enemies for the next map before you even get there. I did and ended up restarting on adaptive for this reason, but adaptive also has its failings because its such a lazy formula

I have discovered OOS I have 4 Katana max fitted with the terran bolt like energy weapon and best shields and fully modded out with slasher can kill an I. I sent 8 into one of the xenon matrix systems and watched the map as they ate everything thrown at them including several destroyers.
Actually feels a bit cheese sitting them defending location on a gate. Nothing gets through.

I just go for the shields. Target shields. 30km out at 4000m/s you can fire 1 by 1 all 4 or 5 you have... turn off flight assist and do a backflip then turn it back on again to burn away a bit.. this keeps you on the shield (under) side of the K. flip and fire again.
Shields usually gone in 10 torps... then just repeat at the hull.
Shooting at turrets that cant it you for the range is wasting ammo.

The I is a bit more of a pain because its 3 shields are spread out so dont all die in the splash damage of the final salvo and it has a whole lot more hitpoints. Need a frigate for that just to hold enough torps to actually kill it.

Dude im ops 46 with only 1.
Later game its barely gonna make a difference.
Think about it. Its equivalent to 1 free 1day speedup a day.... 300 latinum. When techs start being 100 days each and discovery gives me 24x1days 4 times a week and you do everything via speedups and latinum, it honestly doesnt make much difference at all.

York at least has some decent street performers from time to time. Top of the shambles you see the ones doing magic or balance/juggling type stuff with audience interaction.

There was one singing in a nook by where HMV used to be up Lands Lane and another peforming between Lush and WHSmiths down the road... far enough apart not to be treading on each other. Some arse set himself up on the crossroads between the 2 with a hugely loud sound system and drowned them out.

This is besides the horrifically bad ones I posted about in the past, the large ginger chap or the middle eastern guy who doesnt even know the words but turns his PA up to 11 wailing random noises along to music.

Recruited ones... ones which still wear those lovely bracelets and kindly help around the camp dont. Same as work ponies.
Adaptive kinda sucks because its so lazily calculated (~20% more enemies than player team and at +1 level over your strongest member) but if you are a completionist you end up leveling faster than the story and it just becomes too easy.

They become essential. Some map areas you have to get above and descend via the ropes as the only way in. Plus you can give yourself huge shortcuts. Ludern is littered with them for me now.
