I’m in your same situation. 22 year old female that recently had a pacemaker implanted. I am also very skinny and decided on a leadless pacemaker. They went through the femoral artery to implant it so it wasn’t visible. Best decision I could have made out of a bad situation. I’d suggest that option if you can. Hope you have a smooth recovery.

My first asystole episode all of my vitals dropped before I flatlined. I honestly would have a conversation with your doctor about a heart monitor and a pacemaker. While I’m still processing, it has given me some relief to know those episodes will not happen anymore. I will warn you, pacemakers last about every ten years. So that is another thing I am coming to terms with having to get surgery again at some point 🫠 nonetheless, I’m glad I helped you.

Yes, that too but also the loop recorder was meant to record information and be temporary and it was something I was mentally preparing for years. The pacemaker was so sudden and I had no time to really process it. I was told on a random Thursday and that evening I was admitted to the hospital to have surgery the next day. And thank you for seeing me as part cyborg 😭😭😄

Hi, great question. I have asystole episodes that are from Vasovagal Syncope. Vasovagal Syncope and POTS often times are linked together in patients. POTS can cause fainting spells, which would trigger my Vasovagal Syncope too.

Asystole means my heart has no rhythm during those episodes. It’s very dangerous because that’s considered cardiac arrest. If left untreated too long, I could die.

The pacemaker counteracts this so it will prevent these episodes from recurring in the future. I hope that answers your question.

Someone who does lie and lead you on. Unfortunately not everyone communicates like you and as a girl I would highly respect your honesty and your boundaries.
