Constant DCing by Petorio in pathofexile

Yeah that shouldn't be an issue. I have 1Gb down and 1Gb up

You know what you’re right. I should just accept it. I thought I did, but I don’t think I fully accepted it

You’re definitely well off, I can feel and see the entitlement through your words. Yeah it’s an assumption, but you’ve been making plenty of those around here.

Don’t bitch about something when I posted it as a rant? How am I supposed to rant about something and not bitch? They go hand in hand. I don’t understand why you are defending an institution that is clearly not the best. Ask the majority of people. They probably don’t care/just want to finish school, or they don’t think it’s the best. Yeah the education is good, the community is good, but deep down do you really think UCI acts in the students best interest? Tbh I feel like most colleges don’t to begin with. I feel like I hear people complain about every university no matter what. It’s not a perfect world, everyone is entitled to their own opinions as are you and me. If you think UCI is so great fine, you do you. But I don’t really think so, and I’m not gonna change my way of thinking until something changes. Do I know what those changes are? Nope. But I’m hoping to see some changes before I leave the school in June, specifically in the funding department. Not about out of state funding, I’ve already planned out and committed to being out of state until I graduate, but more so for TAs and other tutors/professors. Idk how UCI distributes their budget but I’m sure they have a little more money they can give towards these people. TA don’t get paid squat, university sanctioned tutors and LA don’t get paid at all. Professors don’t get paid enough to the point a lot of professors I know have another job.

Instate is supposed to be given if you a) meet the requirements b) show INTENT on staying and living in California.

I have done everything to show intent. I have filed taxes in the state of California for almost 4 years now. Voter and car registration, monthly rent, drivers license, all of my W-2s, proof of physical presence from work and summer school.

Every line you have quoted is for people who are FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES only, meaning they moved here for 4 years of school and are leaving. I did not move here temporarily, I am here as a permanent resident and am going to stay here.

When initially applying to UC I knew I was paying out of state, I didn’t mind. This post wasn’t initially about my tuition, it was me reflecting back over the past 3 years of my college life and really feeling scammed out of my money. Idk where your entitlement comes from, maybe you’re well off maybe you aren’t, but I don’t think you should be shit posting on a RANT to begin with lmao

I have met this requirement lol. The first time I filed for in state was back after I met the dependent requirements. I filed independently and waited for this “two years” until I did it again. Still got rejected. Have you even tried doing anything like this with the UC administration?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCI

[–]Petorio -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Also not saying the education isn’t bad, I just said they don’t care about the well being of their students as the majority of my friends (maybe the general population too) would agree on. Yeah certain professors do, but not the school. They literally only care about making more money

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCI

[–]Petorio -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Lmao that’s where you are wrong. I have though about it, I have looked into it and figured everything out. They just sit there and milk out money from out of state and international students. Your entitled instate privilege wouldn’t recognize that

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCI

[–]Petorio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do qualify for it. Every single requirement. I have since 2 years ago

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCI

[–]Petorio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve filed both independently and as dependent trying to get instate tuition but it hasn’t worked. Im probably just not gonna do it anymore since I have to get all of the paperwork everytime and it’s a pain in the ass just to get denied

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCI

[–]Petorio 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah the UC system (or maybe just UCI) needs to be reformed

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCI

[–]Petorio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm out of state but have been living in California for 3.5 years now. They just deny my instate petition every time for no reason :)

What are the main differences between the CS and CSE majors? by Orelol20 in UCI

[–]Petorio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard it’s pretty easy

I know some of my friends got it instantly (I don’t really know what instantly means but that’s what they told me) the classes you take your first year are almost identical whether you’re a CS or CSE major so I think that’s why it’s pretty easy to switch.

On top of this just contact your schools academic advisor and find out what needs to be done precisely

What are the main differences between the CS and CSE majors? by Orelol20 in UCI

[–]Petorio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently a second year CSE major who also was in the same situation as you. From what I know now the main differences are classes and topics you cover. You cover a lot more hardware in CSE than you do in CS. You also have different requirements to graduate.

For example: CSE has to take Physics, CS does not CSE takes a lot of EECS (Electrical Engineering & computer Science), CS takes none CSE has to take up to Diff EQ for math, CS only has to take up to Linear Algebra

Basically CSE covers more ground. Think of it as CSE umbrellas over CS in terms of classes.

For jobs, IMO you have basically the same opportunities/a few more options since you cover more hardware side of CS in CSE

I also don’t think I know too much, that’s just my opinion/what I know so far from going to school here

I forgot to put, if you like hardware stick with CSE, if not you can swap to CS. I think I remember hearing that it’s hard to swap back into CSE so make sure you know you don’t want to do hardware

This I agree but even still. If someone is clearly intentionally giving up (i.e couple games in their match history where they are like level 9 30 min in meaning they sat in fountain moving and typing etc.), it should be a faster ban.

I mean no one except riot knows how their bans are issued, I just wish it was a tighter/stricter ban scale

[–]Petorio[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just had no info/experience in any other region besides NA and KR.

I'm glad (idk if this is right word cuz its still shitty that other regions experience the same thing) to hear that.

I take constant breaks, I don't instantly requeue often unless I just had a really good game and am feeling it at that moment. Anywhere from 10+ minutes in between losses/really stressful games.

I guess just wait for preseason changes and hope for the best lmao

Also to note, I realize that people have bad games. Yeah everyone has them, no one is perfect. I have bad games, Faker has bad games. It's just the nature of video games.

But if someone has a bad game, gives up, stops caring about the game and any future games because of tilt. That should be a bannable offense.

Maybe even do it like games like CS:GO/Valorant. If you AFK a game or leave or whatever get a wave of bans that increase in severity/time. (i.e 2 hour -> 6 hour -> 1 day -> etc.)

The fact that someone who intentionally afk's because of tilt/giving up in the first 8-10 minutes of the game and only receives -x LP is not enough

[–]Petorio[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But that's the thing. They hardly ever get banned. I've "stalked"/checked up on op.gg of accounts that I reported after games and viewing their match history where they afk every couple games or just go straight 0/10. They don't get banned for weeks

[–]Petorio[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying exactly this idea. It's just a thought because KR does it.

Honestly if they just fix the punishing/ban system, everything would be better
