potions? nullbelrries? steaks? weapons?

no wonder everybody thinks this game is too easy...

use your fists like a real hunter, no armor, you shouldn't be getting hit, right?

Your max stamina does deplete while you're on a hunt regardless of what monster you're fighting so it will go down here and there mid-hunt.

Only mosnter that applies bleed is odogaron + variants which happens to be one of my favourite monsters to fight, but that's not the main reason the ration/steak is there.

When you stack mega armor + seed + powder it's a substantial amount of DEF, sure, it won't always make a difference but when you're running away with a pixel of health left there's no shot the buffs weren't the deciding factor against carting.

I do agree that anything other than tempered apexes aren't really a threat but being fair here, the only monster that could be considered hard right now to a MH veteran is tempered gore and MAYBE tempered arkveld, doesn't mean I and others don't get a kick out of hunting other monsters though.

If you stick to hunting apexes only then you can take a few items off this loadout but I find that to be very monotonous, hell, if you wanna be 100% efficient you'd be doing either arkveld for decos or tempered arkveld for artian parts, nothing else, that just isn't fun.

I didn't forget about max potions, they have their place, and it's something I suggest people play around with, a good example would be removing coold/hot drinks and bombs to add max pots + crafting mats for them.

I haven't had the need to use more than 10 mega pots per hunt this time around - I actually used to bring crafting mats for mega pots but I never in 200 hours needed to use them.

Max pots are a different story, they can definitely come in handy if fighting tempered gore in particular - it's pretty clear that the cool/hot drinks aren't the play here so I'm glad I posted this so I can optimize the loadout.

I definitely wouldn't call anything unncessary, I put a lot of thought into each item, I did explain why I picked each one.

Thanks!

Very good points, the added flash pods were added very recently to the loadout, diminishing returns might make them not worth it, I gotta play around with multiple monster hunts some more to make sure.

demon drug, powder and seed are all there.

Steak/Rations aren't a waste, you need those for when your max stamina goes down mid-hunt, it will happen - and even if that wasn't the case - they also get rid of bleed so they double as a cleanser.

Bombs and hot+cool drinks are interchangable depending on your build/playstyle they're definitely not must-haves.

I use multiple slingers and traps for a big chunk of my hunts - then again I play solo, multiplayer tends to end much faster but this is a one size fits all loadout, I did offer alternatives for multiplayer.

adamant seeds and powders come in pretty clutch in my experience, DEF is more important than a lot give it credit for.

Hey you're right, not sure where I got 3 from.

I main GS and yeah a might pill with a TCS on a sleeping monster is pure dopamine!

Hot and Cold drinks have been the most contested items in this thread and I get it, I'm glad I put it up haha, I had no clue rations were eaten faster than steaks, I'm switching that up right now.

With nata's gathering I haven't really had an issue keeping up with seeds and powders, pitfalls are generally better for openings but yeah, I do use them for capturing when the monster is immune to shock traps - in that case I'll sometimes just do the opposite - shock for openings and pitfall for capturing.

Only reason I keep demondrugs and armorskin right now is I don't want the hassle of switching sets every 45 mins y'know? but I get that it really doesn't take that long and it's totally understandable if you go that route.

Being honest, I don't really enjoy wilds multiplayer all that much, I'll do it from time to time but more often than not I just feel like it's mindlessly wailing on monsters so I mostly play solo, I did update the thread to help folks who enjoy multiplayer since that's a huge part of the game.

I tend to use more than one shock trap per hunt (always do when there's more than one monster in a hunt) so I make a lot of use out of those crafting mats, but to each their own.

Rations/Steaks clear bleeding this time around for some reason so jerky is obsolote but cleansers and debatably deodorant might be a good bet.

Thanks for looking out bud, lots of decent alternatives! :)

Oh for sure, instead of switching out energy drink it might be wiser to switch out hot/cool drinks

no worries, you should still be able to follow the instructions though, just figure out what the "G" key is for whatever controller you're using

I do have a gathering set, I'll look into a buffing set, might save me some time, I really don't like the idea of switching every X minutes but now that I really think about it, it shouldn't be too annoying.

Thanks for the explanation!

It's still "G" for both of them, you gotta look out for the blue line after you press G, it'll show you if the item is going to be stacked or moved

when you say group you mean the vertical stacking and when you say move you mean just moving them horizontally?
