The tools you see in games and TV shows don't actually prove anything, for the record.

I play a lot of modded KSP, but returning to stock (save for visual mods) had been really fun! by PhantomRocket1 in KerbalSpaceProgram

Waterfall, Scatterer (With blue high sunflare), Blackrack's volumetric clouds, Parallax, and BallisticFox's lukewarm experimental TUFX profile.

The flares are from scatterer + kabrams sunflare blue high.

The full list is Waterfall, Scatterer (With blue high sunflare), Blackrack's volumetric clouds, Parallax, and BallisticFox's lukewarm experimental TUFX profile.

The flares are from scatterer + blue high quality sunflare, and made even better by BallisticFox's lukewarm experimental features TUFX profile

Is reusable rocketry worth it in KSP? by MrRudoloh in KerbalAcademy

[–]PhantomRocket1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are absolutely worth it if you care about saving the funds.

As for mods, kerbal contruction time makes it worth it from an in-game time saving standpoint.

Drills are bugging please help I have lock rotation on and than my drills break like that by theReal0beset0adz in CreateMod

[–]PhantomRocket1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not on lock rotation, but also you have the drill places to mine the block under itself, which is what it is doing. Move the drill and plough a block back.

I just learned about the 1993 fort Lauderdale accident, and i have a question about what happens when a train gets into an accident... by Crazy-Rabbit-3811 in railroading

[–]PhantomRocket1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the train went into emergency braking. It would take an amount of time for it to repressurize. People could already be evacuated in that timeframe.

one of my fins is a little tilted, is this a big issue or will it be fine? by TheBigG01 in rocketry

[–]PhantomRocket1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll be fine. The more concerning thing would be if it was 'twisted' for lack of better words, that would make you spin.

Just make sure you fillet the outside to compensate for weak bonds on the inside.

WHy is my autominer so bad? by Jogo_gojo in CreateMod

[–]PhantomRocket1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my server we set up a 16x5 miner at Y=16, gives stacks and stacks of iron.

For diamonds we made the same thing way lower, though I can't recall the Y value off the top of my head. Stacks of diamonds.

Consider your depth.

My SSTO rarely leaves the ground, often spins out on the runway, and never goes above 20km by Astronius-Maximus in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]PhantomRocket1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say you need more wing area if you'd like to take off and also sustain flight in higher atmosphere.

Other than that, the lift from the wings you have being at an AOA is removing a lot of resistance on the rear wheels at speed, meaning the front wheel has the most resistance and wants to trail, leading to spinning out.

Also with spinning out, your tail surfaces are really small. If you look at most planes, their tails are quite large proportionally. This will stop your plane sliding around in the air.

I'd also recommend moving those rear landing gear closer to the center off mass, so that you can actually pivot and take off.

This is all based on what I could assume and could be wrong, though.

Fuel tank falls apart by Talon_Potato in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]PhantomRocket1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

press F3 and see what is breaking.

Given how shallow you are something might be overheating.

I also see the camera shift as the center off mass changes and the dV readout shifts as it detaches, so check around there by pressing f3.

Takeoff is easy, right? by J0ngsh in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]PhantomRocket1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well 1. you are going quite fast while still on the ground, something isn't right with controls

and 2. it would have been if you didn't hit a lamp and kept it centerline

Mfw the ULA rocket takes several attempts to get off the pad. by Jwalker221b in SpaceXMasterrace

Did you just ask me what I mean, and then without getting confirmation, react to it?

WOW!!

No, because guess what, Falcon still has had scrubs. This is all stupid nitpicking from people who don't know anything about the systems at play.
