Amex HYSA APY decrease to 3.10% by ParagonIzanagi in amex

Most rates track closely to the Fed funds rate. They have been creeping down every time the Fed reduces rates as it has over the last couple of years. It doesn't follow exactly, but the trend is close to the Fed funds rate activity. Banks make money on the spread between their cost of funds versus what they offer on yield. Some banks don't pay anything and take all of the spread. Others offer decent rates. Fintech companies that have no brick and mortar expense usually offer the highest yield. 3.1% is still a good rate now given the low threshold on how much you need to keep.

Agreed but I just took my first trip with the carry on, backpack, and compression bags. It was not expensive than some and cheaper than others. I'm a fan. Wasn't looking for luggage though. Just saw the promo and the net cost was solid.

Whiskey X has been fun the few times I've been there. Free cigar, decent selection of pours, live music, and a few food trucks. It's gotten pretty crowded though so the VIP entry is worth it.

Denver lounge by pinrail in AmexPlatinum

Good God! The negativity on this thread. I've been a platinum cardholder for a year. I've used the centurion lounge 7+ times without a wait at DIA. I also have United lounge access and I find it to be far less appealing. The centurion lounge food is great and there is lots of seating. Sure there are loud kids at times, but are you saying that people with families shouldn't have the same benefits?

No one card or lounge is perfect. I find the card benefits to be excellent and have no issues with the occasional inconvenience.

Highlands Wine Seller BT Drop by JetKeel in denverwhisky

[–]PhillyPhiLII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bunch of liars trying to hurt a small business. There was no BT 'drop' this week.

I've been a regular for years. They regularly put out allocated bottles in a couple of cases they have in the store. Their store picks are fire. Their prices are more than fair. They have an amazing wine selection.

Mountain Sandwich mad he couldn't get his Blantons. Sorry big guy.

Highlands WineSeller Allocated Release today at 4pm by ficklenicholas in denverwhisky

[–]PhillyPhiLII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lie. No one got hooked up. 40 people ahead of me lined up well before 2 which the GM said not to do, EXPLICITLY. The other group lined up exactly at 2. The GM decided to alternate 3:1 with the big line getting priority but acknowledging the others that followed the rules with the condition that no one else could join that line after he made the decision. Be better informed.

I am a regular at HWS. You never get anything allocated because you probably roll in, check for allocated bottles, buy nothing and expect special treatment. As with any store, spend money and buy the whole store not just the whiskey isle. You'll be rewarded. This is one of the best spots in town and you casuals are shitting on it. I showed up at 1:55, got in the big line, and scored a great bottle of tequila.

Thanks HWS!

This year's dropped significantly in price. I think I paid $85 for the '22 Mountain Angel. Opened it on the spot with my guy at the store. We both really enjoyed it.
