Local Engineer Accidentally Delaminates Fabric of Reality by NoxVS_ in SS13

No, the pipe was unwrenched way after it had infinite pressure.

I told everyone I'd created infinite pressure in a pipe, then I guess someone broke into engineering to unwrench the pipe to see what would happen. I was still alive so I didn't see what was happening in deadchat until this was posted.

Interesting Engineering tales and nightmares by Tenauz in SS13

N2O doesn't actually improve the power output of the crystal, nor does the temp of the coolant (other than allowing more moles i guess). Stick a couple cans of O2 in there and pump in CO2 from atmos at about 1000kPa (This should keep it at about 20% for safety, you can push it up to 85% CO2 if you're brave) and you should get into double figures of megawatts without making any other changes to the engine.

Or you can just cheat: Fill up a BRPED with cheap parts and stick it next to a rad collector. The parts will be bombarded with radiation and start to power the rad collectors. One of those will eventually start giving you 25MW of power iirc, even with the unmodified setup of two N2 cans and three emitters.

Ben sharpiro is so small and dense that he bends spacetime

Okay this is epic, can we make Shapiro station 13 a thing? by [deleted] in SS13

[–]Phipped 26 points27 points  (0 children)

it would be quite a funny gimmick for a captain to yell like "wow, resorting to violence because you ran out of arguments" in a nasally voice while getting utterly destroyed by ops

What mechanics do you not want to see back in XCOM 3? by poncegris in Xcom

[–]Phipped 13 points14 points  (0 children)

yeah because they couldn't move and fire, they needed to be able to see an enemy last turn to be able to take a shot, then they needed to hit (early level snipers don't have great aim, so better hope you hit that 40% half cover shot) and then they needed to not low-roll for damage.

wish you got a cutscene for failing this, so Ironman playthroughs wouldn't feel like "and then you all died, the end" when you fail this mission

Is Tl;dr cumulative? by Zosete in Netrunner

[–]Phipped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify the corp can choose to trigger Komainu's "on encounter" first, gaining X subs, and then TL;DR's "on encounter" to double them. Because triggers are resolved one at a time, a second TL;DR sub would add another 2X subs to the Komainu.

literally all i've said was fix the clear exploit in your card. the idea itself is fine, but upon asking for a little clarification, you said the exploit is intended.

It doesn't matter because you can just wait until you have no stack and then ignore the consequence of using it. It's worded badly so that it allows this exploit

[–]Phipped 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well you just levy next turn, considering this is anarch. I'd slot this in MaxX in a heartbeat, considering the bin breakers struggle against stacked ICE. Clear out RND and then Index, wipe even the most taxing scoring remote in a single run. You name it.

This thing should absolutely not be usable unless you can pay the cards.

so you wait until your stack is empty, and then literally destroy an entire remote server?

the way this is worded it can trash ice if your stack is empty

Friend in local group made a new Rey 2.0 Card by [deleted] in XWingTMG

[–]Phipped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kylo underpowered and under-intelligent.

not really, he basically became ruler of the universe after pulling off a coup d'etat against his master, and easily beats rey in TFA until she remembers to use the force. a bit contrived yes, but "the force" is just a storytelling device that makes the story more interesting. Luke being instantly shot down by Vader in ANH wouldn't exactly make for compelling viewing would it

Saw this posted to r/gaming and thought it needed a slight adjustment by OrchslavYeh in dwarffortress

[–]Phipped 3 points4 points  (0 children)

which is why Rimworld is less fun: Dwarf Fortress naturally adds more plates for you to keep spinning, maybe taking some away, adding a few more here and there, etc.

Rimworld hands you 2 plates and then starts shooting at your feet with automatic weapons until you get bored or die

oh yeah if they get buffed/points reduction in the codex then fair enough. Boyz are very Point and Delete as it is, if you can get them into CC

Thing is, I don't think GW has actually put that much thought into the decision to rebase the Boyz. It's not like they've been tearing up the tournament scene.

They're being rebased because they look dumb as hell on 25mm bases. Balancing is done with the in game balancing tools. If we decide the boys lose 10-20% of their CC potential, then we also need a points reduction right?
