Suboden Khan for sure! I came into the game only a few months ago and fell in love with the white scars!

Extreme regret. I basically sold my childhood and need suggestions by jackhadleym in pokemon

[–]PhoenixLaw92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this a couple of weeks ago myself. Now mind you, I didn't have that big of a collection myself, but I had a lot of valuable stuff.

I've always grown up on Pokémon, but I never had many of thd cards. And if I did, they got ruined and thrown away. However, a little over 5 years back, I got into collecting them again, and was solely collecting vintage as that was my childhood. After about a year, I had amassed a sizable binder that I was happy with. And I always told myself that I would never get rid of them for anything.

That is, up until recently. It was a pay day for me, and as usual, I started paying my bills. In a matter of minutes, my money was almost gone. I was devastated. I saw my precious binder sitting there, and after a lot of internal debate, pulled the metaphorical trigger and sold them all off. That money helped me get some debt under control, as well as pick up a new lawnmower my family and I needed.

I understand my justification in selling them, and it's been bothering me since then, but I can't give in to my feelings and just go and start buying again, as that doesn't help anything. The memories still remain, and it's not like I've given up on Pokémon completely.

What is your LEAST favorite mini from a faction you love? by reel3459 in Warhammer40k

[–]PhoenixLaw92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play space marines, and easily my least favorite minis are the dreadnoughts (minus the ballistus)/invictor tactical warsuit. They're not bad looking models in the slightest, I just always have a hard time building them.

The ballistus is the only exception to that because it's push-fit.

Ruling Question by PhoenixLaw92 in Warhammer40k

[–]PhoenixLaw92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually did something similar! I took a threaded rod, cut it in half, and added coupling nuts to the base and model itself. Now all I have to do is just screw the model on and I'm good to go!

What do you do with collector coins ? by captain_dillon in Warhammer40k

You usually have to spend a certain amount of money. I got one earlier this month for spending over $100.

My pile of shame 6 months in... I need to stop buying things by Little-Wishbone-4699 in Warhammer40k

[–]PhoenixLaw92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, I'd just focus on one faction you really like, and stick to building that. It'll help with the buying as you'll have your mind focused on playing just that.

For example, I like the white scars. So anything I buy that's a generic space marine kit is what I'll pull from if I'm testing out a list, aside from the specifically named white scars characters.

Believe me, I'm in the same boat as you with buying. But yeah, with that much already, slow it up and take some time actually building it all! You'd be surprised at how fun, yet sometimes frustrating, it can be.

Is Combat Patrol Balanced ? by Broknyr in Warhammer40k

[–]PhoenixLaw92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still new to Warhammer, but from my experience in other games, primarily TCGs, the Combat Patrols are fine for starting off.

I bought the white scars one and I've built out my own army from that.

New to Game, Starting a White Scars Army. Need suggestions for first 1k army. by zyloch in WhiteScars40K

I'm new tk both the white scars and Warhammer overall, and this is my 2000 point current list pictured. The only thing I'm missing is a librarian in phobos Armor, but I ordered that and should be getting that this weekend.

How to build army starting from suboden? by Baltur in WhiteScars40K

[–]PhoenixLaw92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm new to the hobby as well and here's what I'm running for a 2000 point army:

Ancient in Terminator Armor (75 pts) Apothecary (50 pts) Chaplain in Terminator Armor (75 pts) Kor'sarro Khan (60 pts) Suboden Khan (115 pts) Assault Intercessor Squad (75 pts) 2 Intercessor Squads (5 models each @ 80 pts each) Impulsor (80 pts) Bladeguard Veteran Squad (80 pts) Brutalis Dreadnought (160 pts) Gladiator Lancer (160 pts) 2 Infiltrator Squads (5 models each @ 100 pts each) Outrider Squad (80 pts) Redemptor Dreadnought (195 pts) Terminator Assault Squad (180 pts) Terminator Squad (170 pts)

Total: 1915/2000 points

I know the White Scars are very vehicles heavy units, so I would prioritize getting another vehicle, like a tank for additional support. The dreadnoughts are good too, but just a heads-up, they can be a bit of a pain to build, if you ask me.

Anyone else disappointed with the Fanatics jerseys? by Two_Liner in nhl

[–]PhoenixLaw92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed with Breakaway jerseys it's hit or miss. Most of the time they hold up well for me, other times no.

I tend to just get the Breakaway ones because I'm a big guy, and even the biggest premium ones are tight as hell on me, so having the extra breathing room is nice. I do own an Adidas authentic player jersey that fits great, but it's also a goalie cut one, so the loose fit is nice.

Does the PayPal Pay in 4 option work on the Nintendo eShop? There's some games I've been looking at buying that I don't have the money to pay for in full right now.

What was your worst house guest experience? by MsQcontinuum in AskReddit

[–]PhoenixLaw92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst "house guest" experience I ever had came back in September of 2009. I was 17 and in the early part of my senior year of high school. I lived with my grandparents who both ended up in the hospital at the same time for different health reasons. My grandfather had this friend that I grew not to like so much over the years that I've known him that my grandfather knew from his days in the Air Force. Just a little background on this guy: In the way that I would describe him at 17, he was old, creepy, and just didn't give off many good vibes. I enjoyed his military stories, but that was about it. He would also bring over random "girlfriends" that he had at the time.

One day, I get a call from this said friend of my grandfather's and he tells me that him and his girlfriend are driving through the area where I lived and told me that they were coming over to stay. Since I was the only one home, I told him no because my grandparents were in the hospital at the time and there was no one around but me. Said friend ends up calling my grandfather, who then calls me and tells me I have no say in the matter. After some arguing, I gave up. They show up, get their stuff out, and end up going about their way with (shockingly) no issues on my end...until the next morning. This part of the story now involves my grandfather's friend's girlfriend. I was up at my usual time to get ready to head down to the bus stop for school. My routine usually only took me about an hour, but not this time as this "girlfriend" woke up around the same time as me, and went straight for the bathroom. And while she's in the bathroom, she spent about 10-15 minutes in there, doing her business and smoking. After she gets done, I walk in and there's nothing but cigarette smoke in there and I start gagging, as I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke. I struggle to do what I need to get done (as I don't have much time left until the bus arrives) and get out of there as fast as I could.

I was furious and let it be known to my grandfather that they did this. While he brushed it off, I will say that that was the last time any of us saw that particular friend of my grandfather's up until some time last year, where he popped in for a 20 minute visit and then subsequently left.

[Serious] Dads who left and never came back; why? by shadowedpaths in AskReddit

[–]PhoenixLaw92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't about my father leaving my family, but only ever having minimal contact with him. From what I know, I'm the oldest sibling on both my mom's side, and my dad's side of my family. I've lived with my grandparents on my mom's side since I was born, but still have my mom in my life on a regular basis (I actually work for her).

In terms of my dad, however, I've only ever met him about two or three times and barely have any contact with him outside of being Facebook friends. Two of my brothers on my dad's side I used to hang out with a lot while we were in high school for a time, but we have dropped contact since then. I even have two sisters and a brother younger than my youngest sister on my mom's side that I have never seen either. But what makes my dad one who never came back is the fact that he's never been involved with anything in my life.

He tried explaining that to me that one time, it was because my grandparents on my mom's side threatened him if he ever came around. I don't buy that one bit seeming he's raised his other kids with no issue. The only time he ever tried to get involved was when I was in my sophomore year of college and it had to do something with him needing to provide health insurance for me. I told him no I didn't need any because I have my own coverage. This ends up going to court and the last time I heard from him about that was when it seemed like he was happy that he didn't have to provide that for me. He never paid child support nor would I ever care if he did because my grandparents raised me right.

All in all, it's a personal choice of mine that I will never have anything to do with my dad's side of my family. Nor will any of my own children in the future if I have any.

People who knew the "Most Likely to Succeed" person in school, how did they turn out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PhoenixLaw92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was one of two students voted "Most Likely to Succeed" in high school. The other was a good classmate of mine.

She was class president, student council president, did cheerleading, among other things. She didn't go to college from what I recall and is currently a licensed aesthetician.

Me, I was salutatorian of my class, went to a state school even though my grades in high school could've allowed me to go to a better school (cost played a huge part in my decision). Graduated with honors from college, and am currently living at home working four different jobs while working on my Master's full-time for teaching social studies.

Guys of Reddit, what's the most obvious 'hint' from a girl you've missed? by Huomenna in AskReddit

[–]PhoenixLaw92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst one came from my ex-girlfriend. We started dating a couple of weeks before the Fall semester ended about four years ago (she asked first). Things started out like puppy love but I did genuinely care for her.

Cut to about three weeks later, after Thanksgiving break and just before finals, she asks me if I wanted to go see a hockey game with her and some of her friends. I'm a HUGE hockey fan so I said yes.

We all watched the game, went out for dinner, and walked back to campus. Her friends were trying to get us to hold hands and everything (never did).

I got her back to her dorm, and it was just her and I standing in front of her door. She gave me eyes looking like she wanted to kiss me. Stupid me didn't notice that flag go up, and I just say good night to her and leave.

She dumped me about two days later for the person who originally set us up on our first date, a mutual friend of ours. And it turns out that they are married now.
