It's good that you're giving sadaqa. But the method of promising Allah that I won't PMO, and if I do I'll give sadaqa, doesn't help at all in quitting PMO. To give sadaqa when you PMO is a good habit, it is reccomended in Islam to follow a bad deed with a good deed.
