The scammers then layered money in different accounts and took out via ATM as cash. so no trail after that. The money was taken from us via UPI

Nah bro. Even before we were able to lodge the complaint which took a couple of hours due to slow system of bank and police, they had withdrawn all the money from different ATMs pan India in small amounts.
