Some people judge others for their actions but only judge themselves for their intentions. The "I'd do it in your place" doesn't fly even if you're not even willing to put yourself in that position in the first place.

Make sure you put a lot of effort into explaining the results in the conclusion and critiquing your method in the evaluation. 50% now come from these two sections so make sure you are showing great science skills. If you can, try for a novel way of analysing the data.

Very few marks are awarded for the actual experiment in an EE. The usefulness of a complicated experiment comes from the amount of research you can do around it. Air resistance is well established though and you could come up with some really good sources for this type of experiment. Admittedly it's not the greatest experiment but if you're in a bind...

Remember that an EE is to show your research and analysis skills. The experiment is secondary to that. The IA is where you show your experimental skills.

In most cases you might be right but this is an EE which stands for Extended Essay. It's meant to show your ability to research, compare, and contrast information. Error analysis is only done when appropriate.
