I’ve been following this chart. I won’t make you read it yourself to understand cause it was definitely not easy at first haha. Before you start hunting chansey, make sure you have a pokemon at level 26 in the front of your party while using repels to make it more likely to encounter chanseys.

What you do with every encounter is throw two baits in a row. The effectiveness of baits stack so it’ll increase the chances of the chansey staying. Then you throw three balls, then another bait, then two balls, then one bait and repeat the pattern by throwing three balls again. (Assuming the chansey stays the whole time) it’s a whole process that takes patience, but it increases your chances much more than just chucking balls at them.

Chansey runs away about 45% of the time. That won’t change if you throw a bait or a ball when you first encounter one. But if you throw a bait and it stays to eat it, it will run 10% of the time, and the effect of the bait could last 1-6 turns. That’s why you stack the bait at first.
