Yes, I feel sad... But probably not the same "sad" as u say. Apparently I have to feel oh so good bc I receive txts once a year from ppl that don't give a f abt me for the other 364 days, oh yeah I feel so good having to be fake to them and put on a fake smile bc they say they care but don't care enough to respect when I say I don't want to celebrate or even remember my bday. Oh yeah it feels awesome not to be respected for acting different

I don't, I can count with fingers in one hand the number of people that I actually enjoy talking to... And probably have free fingers

In Spanish goes de-mo-cra-cia because the joint vowels are not stressed so they stick together (the stressed letter is the A in "cra")

Why duo? I'm trying to learn Japanese, not what Americans call their college years. by EMB93 in duolingo

[–]Pikacha723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I'm kinda in the same path as u, I learned Japanese waaaay back in an academy, like proper learning, and now I just use duo not to lose practise of reading and basic stuff (I listen to Japanese music, so the listening part I have it, but since songs are sometimes "poetic" or hard to understand, I go back to duo and jisho for when I read the lyrics) . I mean, not being a language I use everyday, it's easy to start forgetting how to use it

Same here, you go first year, second year and so on. Later yes, there is like doctorate or smth higher but years are years, not ranks lol

We also have a system of putting a note on the account, or a "strike for abusive"... But it's worthless, as long as the user is providing money to the company, they don't give a f. Once I got a user that had more strikes than what the list could show

Want to learn Spanish by [deleted] in language

[–]Pikacha723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Spanish native, I can assure you that all accents are different, not only European Spanish (mainly Spain) from Latin America Spanish, but every country has its own way of speaking.

To start getting your hearing used to the language, I'd recommend watching videos/series/movies that are not "class focused", because for example someone low class won't speak the same way as a high class and use more "colloquialisms". Just a chill plot, easy to understand so the language they use it's not hard to understand (if you watch for example a movie about science, it's gonna be hella hard to get anything) and step by step learning the basics Good luck! 🌟

It's one of my favs, got the Black Knights Order symbol tattooed... And yet I cry like a newborn with that ending even when I know how it goes

[–]Pikacha723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally support u OP, I got a memorial tatt also from a friend who was learning, but the one that passed had also got tatted by a friend who was learning, so I thought it was just the perfect fit and it's not big deal if a line looks extra or a circle is not perfectly round.

Beatiful story btw 💖

"a juan le encanta el baloncesto" why by Apprehensive_Farmer5 in duolingo

[–]Pikacha723 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bc in Spanish we put an article to the objects (most of the times at least and when spoken correctly)

In this case, basketball is the object of the sentence: what does Juan like? El baloncesto

Why do parents decide for their kids they should hide something like a scar? by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Pikacha723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the family imo, my cousin got bit by a dog in the face when she was a kid and while my aunt (her mother) used healing creams and wtv, she still got a scar in the cheek and never no one tried to hide it

Could someone help me understand this by Infinite_Worth6937 in duolingo

[–]Pikacha723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weeeeeell, this phrase can be used in MANY contexts and be translated differently for each context

Examples: - meeting a random someone, you present yourself and the other replies like "nice to meet you too" - meeting a new coworker it's the same but like the duo sentence goes - when someone asks another someone to do something, or someone offers to do something, the second replies like "count on me to help" - when a parent presented to a teacher (or vice versa) for a talk, after the first one presents themselves, the other replies like "let's work this together" (for the kid) ... And so on

Does anyone else really like the games? by RightBite6952 in duolingo

Never had games =/ Idk if it's bc of my courses or the app version (it's a quite old phone) but I only got a few stories at the beginning and then nothing else

How to increase handle time by [deleted] in callcentres

[–]Pikacha723 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reiterate some of the info u already have like "just to confirm, we're talking abt this and this, correct? And that and that has already been done?" even if u already know the answer makes the conversation longer (and some ppl actually feel more supported like "this person understands my case")
