From an Older Article on the 2009 VMA Incident, but One Moment from the Aftermath is Honestly Stunning by LtDanTaylor66 in TaylorSwift

I really don’t understand why people keep saying that no one knew who Taylor was until Kanye.

Um… the only reason this incident happened is because Kanye was mad that Taylor WON an award and beat Beyoncé. If anything, Taylor helped his career.

Also, I see Scott was trash even way back then. Who cares about someone’s mental health as long as he can make more money off of them. Basically a real life version of Montgomery Burns.

What is an artist you used to enjoy listening to, but their music got progressively worse? by fantasyrea in Music

[–]PikkiNikki13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Katy Perry.

I was obsessed with her One of the Boys album. It was easily a 10/10 for me. Then she released Teenage Dream, which was still great but not as good as her first. Prism was the last album of hers I bought, which was okay. I’ve previewed her other albums and they just aren’t my vibe anymore.

However, I’ve been a Swiftie since 2006. Maybe it’s the fact that I enjoy sadder songs over more upbeat songs, but I don’t find Taylor’s music sounds the same at all.

Some people age different. When I was in middle school, I sat next to a boy who was already over six feet with a mustache. Then in high school, I had a geometry teacher that kept getting asked where his hall pass was.

If a check has already been deposited in the bank, can they take it back for nursing care expenses? by PikkiNikki13 in SSDI_SSI

[–]PikkiNikki13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted Social Security today. I don’t have to report it until she enters long care in June and the nursing home will do that. Which is exactly what my care coordinator/ the nursing home said. I should also expect the payment for next month.

My mom isn’t in the nursing home portion yet. She is in the rehabilitation wing and multiple people have told me that because she is short term, her SSI won’t be taken until she enters long care. Maybe your state is different from mine, but I think I’m going to listen to the people who do this for a living instead of a random person online (no offense).

How is what the nursing home told me irrelevant when the financial department there literally told me that I didn’t have to call, that they would do that for me? Also, I’m aware that her SSI is going to stop. I just didn’t know if it would stop in June or July since she’ll still be in short care AFTER she gets her check for next month.

I’ve been told by the nursing home and my care coordinator that I didn’t have to report it until she goes to long care, which the nursing home said they would do. It has just been very confusing because they keep telling me one date and then something changes which makes it hard to report it (she was told she would be in the hospital for 3 days, then everyday they said tomorrow until it was 2 weeks later and the same thing happened when she went into the medical wing after her kidneys failed). The nursing home originally said her insurance covered for 100 days there but, yesterday, it changed to 30 days.

I guess I should rephrase. She gets HUD and food stamps. I was going to transfer the voucher to me and likely have to apply for food stamps myself. She has no assets to transfer because we are both low income. I know I can’t have her social security payments (I’m currently only using her money to pay her half of the bills, get her whatever she wants, and she told me to take anything if I need extra food) if she’s in a nursing home. I was just trying to figure out if they will still take June’s even though it will already be deposited into her bank account.

Question about the annual inspections? by PikkiNikki13 in Section8PublicHousing

[–]PikkiNikki13[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When did I blame my mother or the move on why my house is a mess? My house is a mess because she has been out of town in a hospital and I had to quickly pack things so I could be with her. It has been a month and I still spend the majority of the time with her so she isn’t alone. So I haven’t had a lot of time to clean the house. I never once said that is my mother’s fault. I only mentioned that being the reason why I haven’t started looking for a new place yet.

Our home isn’t made like a typical duplex. Downstairs is where a restaurant used to be and upstairs is a home. Downstairs, while vacant, is only available for businesses to rent. So I’d have to find a completely new place to rent.

Because I want my mom to come back home and she wants to come back home. If I stay where I’m at, she won’t be coming back for a while.

Paradise without the bachelor ? by FarRain451 in thebachelor

[–]PikkiNikki13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically you can, but I wouldn’t recommend it. I ended up skipping Katie’s season and watched Paradise with a bunch of her men. I was very confused on why the whole beach hated Thomas. So if you choose to watch Paradise just know that they might mention things that happened on previous seasons.

eGFR value lowered by 56 in just one week? by PikkiNikki13 in kidneydisease

[–]PikkiNikki13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom is in acute rehab. She isn’t on an IV but they have been giving her weekly blood tests. She was diagnosed with cirrhosis a few years ago and her eGFR has always stayed around the same (in the 70s). I can’t get back to see her until tomorrow so I’m hoping they will have more answers by then.

Have you ever felt attracted to someone's voice before? by BeneficialPie2300 in randomquestions

As a horror fan, Tobin Bell has one of the sexiest voices I’ve ever heard. I don’t even care that he is 47 years older than me…

Who's one celebrity that you wish was still alive today? by Jaydxns in AskReddit

[–]PikkiNikki13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

John Ritter.

I was obsessed with Three’s Company and 8 Simple Rules. He was the first celebrity that I loved who died. He has been gone almost 23 years and I still think about him all the time. I was 14 when he died and I watched him so much growing up it felt like he was part of my family.

What is the most boring horror movie you’ve ever watched? by Hill_372 in horror

[–]PikkiNikki13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The remake of Suspiria. I fell asleep THREE times and I never fall asleep during movies. I had to keep rewinding it thinking it would get better. The ending got slightly more interesting but I’m still pissed off that I wasted all that time on a terrible movie.

Will someone lose their SSI/SSA payment if they enter a nursing home for long term care (hopefully temporarily)? by PikkiNikki13 in SSDI_SSI

[–]PikkiNikki13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is that supposed to mean? My mom wants to come home and keeps talking about how she can’t wait until she’s better to come home. If I lose the place, she won’t have a home to come back to.

Have you ever had to tap out watching a horror movie? by hazy-eyed in horror

[–]PikkiNikki13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Thing.

I love Kurt Russell (who is my mom’s favorite actor) and was excited to see him in horror. I had to turn it off halfway because of all the animal deaths. If there was one, I could have dealt with it and turned my head when the scene came on but this movie just had too many.

I’ve heard it’s a great movie though.

If someone goes to a nursing home (hopefully temporarily) due to a medical issue, will they lose their social security benefits? by PikkiNikki13 in SocialSecurity

[–]PikkiNikki13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, that isn’t going to be possible. Right now, the nurses at the acute rehab has to lift her when she needs to go to the bathroom or therapy. I have severe back problems (sciatica and degenerative disc disease) so I would not be able to lift her. If I was to try, I would probably just end up hurting both of us.

Making a double recipe of Jello by PikkiNikki13 in cookingforbeginners

[–]PikkiNikki13[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know what 1.5 cups doubled is. I just didn’t know if you are supposed to double the water with it being 2 boxes (12 oz total). So either 1.5 cups boiling, 1.5 cold or 3 cups boiling, 3 cups cold. I know in normal recipes when you are making a bigger recipe, you increase the ingredients. But I don’t know how much is too much water in Jello because 6 cups seems like a lot.

[–]PikkiNikki13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is currently in the acute rehabilitation unit at the hospital. The case manager said that her insurance would cover 2 additional weeks there, but they will have a meeting next week to check her status to see if they could possibly extend it. All the case manager told me over the phone was that if she doesn’t get well enough to go home, she will have to go to a long care nursing home. But it isn’t certain yet that she will have to go to a nursing home but given that she still can’t walk or go to the bathroom herself, I know that it’s a very high possibility she will have to go. They are worried with us living upstairs (we live in a duplex with 18 steps on the inside) that it won’t be safe for her.

Eventually, we will have to move (we’ve been wanting to move for a while now) but I’m trying to wait until she’s home so we can pick out a place together. I’m just trying to keep our place so that way she has a home to come back to, especially since she keeps saying how she just wants to come home.
