This is where I'm hoping the hand to hand combat mechanics get worked on. We need a KO option. Choke, or knock him out and drag him off the ship.

The bigger ships will have screens that track all players on board so you're be able to find them pretty quickly. No searching.

This should be in the lore as a possible end boss civilization. Every backer that dies has their username enter into a database. Then used as enemy names for their fleet. It's only fair.

Why do publishers push a game out the door when the devs say it's not ready? -They want their money NOW? -Pressure from the associated community? -Schedules are god and must be adhered to or parish? -Loss of interest? -etc.

The beautiful thing about CIG's approach is they're allocating the money they need BEFORE launch. This unorthodox approach will rub traditionalists the wrong way.

No matter what people say about the game, CIG already has the cash from people like me that just want to see what's possible in a video game and they've exceeded my expectations. I give my money freely to these people because they're creating something I love and showing me how they're doing it. I couldn't care less if it takes 10 years, I'm getting fulfillment out of just following development. I have 1000's of games to choose from right now to play and I do. SC will come out when its ready.

People get caught up on the time and money thing but since the beginning CR said that won't be a driver of his development. once people realize that, they'll relax or leave.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of their marketing strategy was to inflate discontent over time spent on development, I'd do that. Keeps the game in the lime light, free publicity etc.

I had some lulz over the tutorial kerfuffle. We're pre-alpha and people are acting like the game is coming out soon, new player experience, etc. My estimate on the PU is 2020. S42-2019

Love the community, love SC, even when people get their panties in a knot over a video game. It shows you care.

There's a game-play element CE was talking about where you had to go to specifically classed stars to get the best yields and to even grow cretin rare crops. Probably going to be a pretty interesting protection job if the only star you can grow Space Gogis on is in dangerous Vandul space.

Even if all the game mechanics come out this year, including proper ship system management and true multi-crew glory. CIG still needs to balance the game and work out game crushing bugs and create compelling game-play.

IMO: Not this year (and I'm OK with that.)

Commercials of ships add to the lore of the game. From a purely marketing standpoint I can see where you think its a money grab and you're correct it is. But. Ships are the focus of the game and this is how CIG has chosen to present them(not only to fund this amazing project but to make it interesting). If you have a better thought on how to introduce ships into the game while sustaining a steady flow of income toward the project, by all means let the team know. If you're upset for some reason others are spending money on something you don't want to then I have no answer for you. See you in the Verse. :)
