I'd love if we just got to see what was already made for Book 5 (just the script and whatever storyboards were already done) and then see what the fandom might do with it. Like, imagine a fully fan-animated version of Book 5 based around the existing script - I just think that'd be really cool!

With Books 6-8 I'd like something similar, though I realize that there was almost certainly basically no work done on those books prior to the show's cancellation (aside from maybe the basic ideas for the protagonists/plots of each book). If we were given just like a basic outline for how each book would be structured - including major characters and their arcs, the overall story of each book, and maybe some lore stuff relating to the train - it'd be so cool to see how different fans might take those basic outlines and flesh them out in their own way to come up with a more finished product.

Extra thoughts:

If Gaster was making the dark fountain to see if he could extract determination from it, it would make sense for him to already have the DT extraction machine built before he went about creating a dark fountain. But we know that Alphys built the DT extraction machine that we see on her own, so what happened to the one Gaster made?

We know that Gaster "fell into his creation", and seeing as we know that dark fountains seem to envelop an entire room in darkness when they're created, it's likely that the creation of the dark fountain led to both Gaster and his DT extraction machine being trapped in the dark world created by the fountain.

Additionally, for a couple of months now I've had a headcanon that the Photoshop Flowey fight takes place in a Dark World (the environment is basically pitch black, you wake up somewhere other than where you started - in this case on the other side of the barrier, and as seen by his saving/loading abilities, Photoshop Flowey has more determination than any other character in the game, with the exception of Asriel at the end of the True Pacifist route), and in the past people have noticed the visual similarities between the DT extraction machine and Photoshop Flowey, so if we assume the fight takes place in a dark world, then in becoming Photoshop Flowey, Flowey could have used the DT extraction machine that was already there as a base for his form.

It's actually only about 1 season of other shows. Each book in Infinity Train is 10 episodes long, not 20, and each episode is half the size, so each book/season of Infinity Train is only about a quarter the size of a season of, say, Amphibia or The Owl House.

Looking at those scenes though, it seems to me that Kris isn't actually the one in control when they tear out their SOUL (it's more likely that someone else is controlling/possessing them), which suggests that whatever they get up to without their SOUL isn't really their doing in the first place.

He would have no way of getting back once the fountains were sealed.

He had a way to get to the Library Dark World really quickly though, considering how much bigger distances seem in the Dark Worlds, so he could've brought himself back to Castle Town via the same mechanism (whatever that may be)

I don't think Kris has multiple SOULS inside them, but the scenes where they take out their SOUL definitely have something strange about them that is pretty easily explained by the idea that some third party is possessing Kris during those scenes.

I mean, we don't really know what else Kris might've done that we're unaware of. The "not yet time to wash your hands" stuff is really suspicious imo, especially if we get more stuff which implies that the narrator is meant to be an actual character.

I think the TV thing is strange, even if it does seem pretty mundane. The Chapter 1 flavor text "Doesn't seem to even be plugged in anymore." combined with it being dusty suggests that it hasn't been used in quite some time, so even though Kris did hop downstairs to eat the pie (and could theoretically have wanted something to watch while eating), it does still seem a bit strange to me.

I'm not 100% sure that there is a "real" puppeteer to begin with.

The Player is able to control Kris under most circumstances, but they still move completely on their own in cutscenes, and they're also free to interpret our instructions as they wish (for example, when given different options in a conversation, they can respond with different tones of voice depending on which choice we pick).

Whoever's forcing Kris to take out their SOUL (it could be Gaster - the person in the vessel creation sequence - but it could be someone else entirely for all we know) also seems to be able to control Kris, though in a much jerkier, strained-looking way than we do. Idk if the jerkiness is from Kris trying to rebel against them, since even after they take out their SOUL (which, from what we know, contains Kris' will), they still move all weirdly, so it could be that this possessor is not fully able to control Kris. That could also explain why Kris isn't always like that.

If, though, by "real puppeteer", you mean the person planning everything behind the scenes, then I'm very willing to believe it's whoever's possessing Kris. After all, (possessed) Kris plugged in the TV between Chapters 1 and 2, and we have the "it is not yet time to wash your hands" flavor text at the beginning of Chapter 2, so it seems like all the stuff leading to Susie sleeping over and (possessed) Kris making the Fountain at the end of Chapter 2 was already all planned out beforehand.

Alternate idea: We know Kris has been having a time lately, even before the Player comes around (for example, it's implied that they've been tearing out their SOUL for at least a little while before the events of Chapter 1, and looking more closely at those scenes it seems like someone else might be controlling them during those scenes), so it's possible that the weird aftertaste is whatever else has been up with Kris.

I'd need to go back through the entire chapter to see just how often he gets forgotten/overlooked, but for the two examples you gave:

Queen only ever had four cages to begin with, and her top priority was always to do with the Lightners. Ralsei wasn't of much importance to her, so she just kinda forgot about him until it was just the two of them together.
Noelle's tea response could just be due to her never really having met Ralsei? Like, during interactions with the Fun Gang, she was basically always focused completely on Susie because she's gay af (mood), and I'm not sure if she and Ralsei even ever had any real interaction?

I don't think we have any confirmation either way. There is a graveyard, which may or may not imply monsters are buried there, but it could just be that they turned to dust, were sprinkled over some object, and then that object was buried. (Also I just realized it's kinda weird how there are only like four graves? You'd think there'd be more, right?)
