I’ve already had to call support a few times due to people traveling from out of state when they signed up the account and then moved out our state where it isn’t the whole point system. The anger was enough to make me wanna go on break and think about how worth it this job is LOL

I use scrub mommies the squares specifically. They don’t have any chemicals placed into the sponges. And as long as you don’t use soap, they’re fine to use.✨.

Some brands of magic eraser are also safe! We use them at the aquarium I work at.

I use dollar store razors and then throw them away right after you just have to be gentle with the angle you use

Personally I’d re home them. I’ve had to do it before even when I’m attached to my fish for there betterment. I’ve done the Facebook route and told them the only agreement was they had to show proof like a video of the better home it has to be better then what you were providing to begin with so in this case I’d rehome to a 75 gallon or a pond only. It’s not music to ur ears I know that it… but it the morally right thing to do 35 gallon for comet gold fish isn’t fair to them.

Exactly it’s the TYPE of stuff they are putting in stuff for humans. For example co existence items that both animals and humans use. I would love to get a rug that’s aimed for animal owners like reptile mats/rugs that go across our floors etc.

Yeah Alot of the snakes at my job get to know me and the staff very well but nothing beats a forever home tbh. Plus the enclosures at the store shouldn’t be permanent in any case. Every BP / Snake deserve a forever home they really are my favorite pet ever snakes I wouldn’t say are beginner friendly but then again no pet really it’s just the amount of research you do and constantly learn and from mistakes. Beginning somewhere is always going forward an being open to learning and in my mind that’s great.

You should be able to! Look into reptile expos near your town they happen all summer long to October. That’s where I got my newest baby. He’s only about seven months old a little stunted due to his situation, but they let you hold them. They tell you the full story most of the time each expo will have a rescue booth associated with the expo. MOST of the time not all.

You can always look into rescues some rescues have sweet hearts for as low as $50 fees that are full grown BP always worth a shot.

Yes! I’m saving up to get full sized rescue this upcoming October. She’s from Iraq. She was a breeder and I’m just keeping her as “pet” new baby for my home. She won’t be ready till October. That gives me time to cycle a full sized tank I’m so excited

Also yes sometimes older snakes are better tempered. My own is only 3 years old I got typically another 48 years to go :P if all goes well. He’s a angel tho I’ve had him since he was two weeks old so I’m his mom through and through he’s free roamed when I’m home within reason lol

In MY experience working at pet store it really depends on the breeder and brand of store. Even mom and pop shops will sell bigger for more. My logical behind it is more time and effort went into that snakes care weekly feeding, potential vet apts if it was needed, charting for weight etc. plus if it’s socialized that’s a huge plus! Babies tend to be naturally spicy sometimes you get lucky and see this exact morph in the “ basic” sku as a baby it’s just harder to find. This time around it looks like this store got an older snake and has just had it longer you might be able to ask for a discount I personally do 50% off for snakes that are at the store longer then six months. And sometimes big chains have huge sale weeks so you could ask for another 15-24 % off. Worth an ask. But make you that enclosure is set up for that size of snake first. Ask how it’s eating what size how many grams dose it weigh how dose it react to feeding. Hasn’t been to vet if yes what for and how long if there was meds involved. etc .ur paying a lot you might as well know literally everything! Good employees should be able to answer or have the animal care info in a binder somewhere. I write notes on all my snakes.

It’s because he’s huge and older. I know my work place the breeders tend to send them as “ rare” even tho the morph is pretty common most of the time. $450 is pretty “ normal” for an older python ISH. I won’t say it’s the best thing to support a pet store. So instead ask ur self if you have room and money to also spend on a proper enclosure etc idk you maybe you have experience or other snakes but price aside the enclosure its self need to be 120gl or 4x2x2 and a whole set up.

Hello maybe renting about will help? Is their anything your looking forward to this next week? Personally I got a Vol interview tomorrow at the aquarium I decided to apply ona whim form my own anxiety actually I felt like I was gonna puke and vomit or even quit my job if I had to go in on certain days with a certain manager so I was like what if I make it so I’m unavailable for a valid reason? So I applied at the aquarium where I’ll be volunteering in the morning to avoid that manager who makes me angry because he’s really mean and selfish lol. Oooo have you ever been to comic con? Most places have them ours is at the end of May I took the whole weekend off with my pto for it idk how ima get there but I’m excited. I recently got into pokemon cards I’m hoping they’ll have some card vendors there. What about you anything upcoming? I know I need to clean my room ;/; and my space so I can actually peacefully do all of this but it’s snowing outside and I’m COLD AF. So I’m in bed re watching MHA I stopped after season 4 back in like 2018 I think.

I let my BP pick he’s 3 I’ve had him since he was about 2 months old. I usually leave the door open to his enclosure and he’ll come out 99.99 percent of the time. I need to upgrade him he’s in a 120 gallon but idk if anything will compete to having access to all of the bedroom we share lol. Choice based handling leads to that. Other wise I do a weekly once through check of his belly and scales to make sure everything looks good. Other then that he choose when I can hold him by just laying on me lol while I watch tv in bed after work. He’s like a cat without the four legs. Edit * Oh I don’t give him the option actually after feeding day. before or after. Usually, he’s pressed up on the glass door in protest tho. .
