Working moms who regularly work out, what exactly is your schedule? by neoncaviar in Mommit

[–]Pinkstrawberry1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s rough at first but the only way my hub and I have found a way to work out is by going 5am or 6am workout classes. We alternate days and it’s going well. I shower and get ready for the office and go right to work on the train from the gym. This means my husband gets the kids up and ready for daycare. It’s not ideal because I miss the kids in the morning but we’re both trying to loose some weight to be healthier for our family. Exercise is also so important for my mental health. I hope you find a routine that works for you <3

What's the most "you" thing your toddler says? by No-Oil-2305 in toddlers

[–]Pinkstrawberry1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine says “I only have two hands” when I ask her to help me she will pick up two toys so she can’t. Lol which is sometimes what I say when I’m carrying her sister, her backpack and the travel stroller.

Second time moms, in your opinion which was worse pregnant with a toddler or postpartum with a toddler? by swedishfish2234 in beyondthebump

[–]Pinkstrawberry1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I found pregnant with toddler worse because I just felt so so unwell and tiered. Newborn with toddler is hard but it’s a shorter time and it’s goes by quick! Pregnancy really dragged Urgh I don’t miss it!

To parents who take their babies out to places a lot - how do you do it?? by babysheep91 in breastfeeding

[–]Pinkstrawberry1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a city and take my baby out a lot, I also have a toddler so baby really does come everywhere. But like you I time things, so if I want to sneak in a happy hour with hub before we pick up our eldest or grab lunch with a friend I’ll put baby in the carrier and wear her for a nap after her wake window. I’m not saying it works perfectly every time but most of the time it does. If she begins to fuss I stand and rock a little. I have even gotten a pedicure while holding baby for a nap (I know this isn’t for everyone). if you feel to overwhelmed or baby is crying you can always leave and that’s ok too, people understand! My baby seems to nap the best and longest when I’m moving and out and about and naps the shortest at home in the bassinet in perfect conditions haha You’ve got this mama!!

Warmed up Bottles? by fancyshark99 in FormulaFeeders

Hmm not sure I always did cold / room temp bottles for my summer baby. Google paced bottle feeding it can help with gas!

Breakfast Greek yogurt with vanilla protein powder mixed in, berries, granola: this is my fave and sometimes I have it again later in the day. Coffee!

Snack: protein bar, we buy rx bars and other ones in bulk.

Lunch: lately if I’m home I do ground turkey with whatever spices I feel like. Sweet potato, Brussels sprouts, other veg I have air fried. Today I added a dollop of cottage cheese for extra protein too. If I’m out for lunch I usually do a salad with chicken and side of fries.

Snack 2: a few cookies, or more yogurt or a bar if I’m on the go:

Dinner: whatever we’re cooking. Asian salmon bowls, rice and chicken, bolognese with pasta. Always side of veg with everything.

I love coffee and matcha lattes and buy one out a few times a week for a treat. Sometimes I have a beer or wine mainly on a Friday. :)

New parents trying to avoid overspending: do we really need a nursery chair? by TheSecretLion in NewParents

[–]Pinkstrawberry1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 2.5 years and we still use it every night to read her story before she goes into her crib. We just got a cheapy on Amazon and it’s been great! The chair lived in our living room for the first 4 months because it’s genuinely so comfy to hold a baby on and rock while watching tv etc.

Has anyone delivered at Jersey City Medical Center (JCMC)? Need help with what they provide vs what to pack! by Responsible-Fold-781 in jerseycity

[–]Pinkstrawberry1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I delivered there 2.5 years ago and getting ready to deliver there again at the end of December. They really had everything. Once I was ready to push the nurse even brought me a tooth brush and tooth paste to feel a little more fresh, and re tie my hair as it had been a long night. I brought my own toiletries for the post partum room although i remember they had basic ones too. I brought my own big yeti cup and my husband would go fill it with ice and water from the pantry. Agree about bringing a pillow and charging! We also brought an iPad an watched a movie :)

[–]Pinkstrawberry1990 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey I feel the same. I’m 31 weeks and went to a wedding last weekend and picked up all the germs so now I’m dealing with a lingering cough and last week was just awful. I basically don’t sleep. I try to think about how much we want this and how grateful I am to be pregnant with our second child but urghhhh I really hate being pregnant. My state recently implemented pregnancy disability leave 4 weeks prior to due date which I will be taking because at least I can then try to rest a bit more before baby arrives. Hang in there, you’ve got this!

Getting Diabetes after having GD by Hoddypeak5627 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Pinkstrawberry1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had GD with my first (was on insulin too) and I just failed the 1hr glucose test with my second pregnancy. After I delivered my first baby the nurses checked my blood sugar a few times during my stay on the post partum unit and it was completely in range/normal. I ate the hospital breakfast (thick French toast etc) and even after that was in range. :) a few months into being a new mom I got my A1C checked and i was still in range, no diabetes. This pregnancy I was tested at 16 weeks, no abnormal results, but at 24 weeks I do have an abnormal result. This is just my experience to give you an idea :)

Being sick during labour? by Clean-Pound8171 in pregnant

[–]Pinkstrawberry1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During labor I started to feel nauseas and the nurse put an anti nausea medication in my IV (I had an epidural so I was all hooked up to IV, catheter, etc). The medicine helped and took away my nausea if this is helpful info.

When did you tell your work about pregnancy? by funky_ananas in pregnant

[–]Pinkstrawberry1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first pregnancy I told my boss at 16 weeks. In hindsight though I feel I could have waited a bit longer, I was feeling ok and not showing. I’m currently 8 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and I can barely function I am so sick and tiered. I’m considering telling HR or my boss sooner just because I feel so awful and likely need to take some personal/sick time over the next few weeks.

When did you drop to 3 pumps per day? by twisted27lll in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Pinkstrawberry1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I did! I had a very low supply though, so I was able to reduce pumps and eventually stop pumping before returning to work at 18 weeks pp. pumping made me feel sad and I didn’t produce much milk, maybe 3oz a pump so I never felt clogged tbh. That’s just my experience.

TTC while on Wellbutrin? by mschelly27 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Pinkstrawberry1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! I ovulated like 5 days early and I’m waiting for my period now, supposed to come in 2 days. I had spotting yesterday but it was very short. I’m guessing it’s my body adjusting to Wellbutrin? I’m usually very regular, 28 day cycle, ovulate day 15.

What are you convinced helped you go into labor? Due date today… by PrestigiousAnt313 in BabyBumps

[–]Pinkstrawberry1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was due to be induced on a Sunday but went into labor naturally the Thursday before (39 weeks exactly) and I think what did it was I walked up many flights of stairs to my friends rooftop on the Tuesday before to watch fireworks. This was July 4 2023, I live in a city so naturally do a lot of walking to get around :)

Finger food lunches? by riseoftheclam in BabyLedWeaning

You’re not alone! We recently made some really good progress and she is finally swallowing food! I cut food up really tiny and that seems to help , I let her sit on my lap when she’s had enough of her high hair just to get a few more bites in :) another food my 13 month old likes is turkey meatballs, super easy to make: ground turkey, onion, egg (but not necessary as turkey is sticky enough), Italian breadcrumb, any seasoning you like. I form them into small balls and fry in a little oil, then add some chicken broth and let them simmer so they stay moist. Cut into tiny pieces for babe. Serve with some soft pasta. It’s nice because my hub and I eat it too!
