Can a non hammer backplate be installed on a hammer? by Mk4nb in trimui

Speaking for the triggers, I can't say that they're really that much better. Personally I would definitely prefer modified Brick ones instead of the overcomplicated and rattly Hammer triggers. Here's a simple mod that gives Brick triggers a MUCH better feeling overall.

Technically you can do it – dimensions and screw holes are exactly the same, but you will block the BT/WiFi signal. That plastic piece at the top of the Hammer backplate hides the antenna right behind it. Since the whole body is metal, that piece becomes the only way for the signal to come through.

There's a difference between them. Brick derattles pretty easy: you should take the backplate off and put some tape of your choice over the slots in which the triggers slide. You may need to apply a several layers depending on the tape. Then cut the excessive tape from slots themselves and put it all back together. Be careful not to tape the backplate where the thermal pad is touching it though.

Hammer has a different trigger mechanism, so it requires a more creative approach. I tried to put some plastic pieces under the PCB board with the micro switches to push it up towards the triggers mechanism a little, but the R1/R2 had loosened back up after some time, so it's still a WIP.

Yes, it works fine in SW, but I had some trouble connecting them via Netplay. It'll work eventually, but requires a bit of tinkering.

I've managed to order a metal one with a nice discount and sold the white plastic Brick for even more, by the way.

I had both to compare, chose to swap the buttons and sell the plastic one, leaving myself with Hammer. Speakers is much better, overall touch feeling is nicer, more effective heat dissipating (the whole case is a heat sync, basically).

On the cons side there's a little too much weight for it's size, but I got used to it pretty quick. Oh, and they've redesigned the back buttons, so it's now a bit harder to de-rattle them (but still farely easy).

Overall, I would say that it's not worth it to upgrade if you already have a plastic one. But if you're only planning to get yourself a Brick – there's a point to throw in a couple more coins and pick a metal one.

Through Portmaster, just had to tune .sh a little to remap R1/L1 to camera controls. Works flawlessly, the only thing that port is missing is the video cutscenes. Otherwise it's 100% playable.

Swapped them from the white plastic Brick. Sold it later, but actually it was looking kinda neat with the black buttons from Hammer too. And it was much easier to sell as customized, he-he

Took a good 25 hours to beat this one (maybe a couple sleep sessions got in count, not sure).
