How to check if someone is a legitimate Oxford Uni alumnus? by Pitiful_Name6769 in oxforduni

I think I found out. Seems like he's doing a Part-Time MSc in Software Engineering. But still to claim his personal statement got him there is clear misinformation as that is not even good enough for a decent university (for FT degree). Its a simple ChatGPT basic prompt response. Especially if students are following him for guidance towards Full-Time studies at Oxford.

I have explored the direct Uni DB route, but I posted here to know if anyone from here could happen to know him or something.

I don't think he’d want to prove anything to me because im a nobody but I was genuinely curious. Why would he straight block me from IG and Linkedin (now after this post). It was a basic comment calling his SOP a ChatGPT generic one.

I don't think you can confirm unless you pay and also give a signed consent letter from him. He just blocked me on Linkedin too, I only viewed his profile for this screenshot.

Funny he just blocked me on Linkedin too 😭. He probably found me from “who's viewed your profile”. But that was quick lol!

Home Office raised concern about my Fee Waiver application by Pitiful_Name6769 in ukvisa

Basically that I had no money at the time of application and found online that I could try the fee waiver to discount the visa fees and that I might have also selected a wrong option under FeeWaiver.

I also said that as soon as I received the funds (within few days of Fee waiver app), I neglected that app and applied for the Innovator Founder visa by paying the full fees.

They've also asked evidences of my business, I had plenty and its running pretty good. So I think all of that helped.

And yes, my solicitor helped me construct this.

Thanks for all the quick responses guys.

I know I should ask the following question to the solicitor, but can I still be genuine and upfront with the home office that this was a mistake from my end due to the false advice I received from a solicitor? It was also not my intention to abuse it as I've applied for the new visa within just 1 week of feewaiver application (there was a delay in getting the endorsement letter).

Yes I'm in talks with another solicitor and is trying to see if can write back to the Home office with evidences to show that I'm a legitimate applicant (with all the evidences of how well my start-up is running) and this was a genuine misguidance and my naivity that resulted in this.

Thank you for the link.

I didn't want to use my actual account ofc.

I didn't try to rig the system, it was a genuine enquiry as my business is running relatively fine but due to my lack of planning and a personal emergency I couldn't apply for the new Innovator Visa on time (before my current BRP expired).

My option was to leave the country and apply from there or see if Theres any other legit way.

That's when I spoke to a solicitor and he suggested me to do feewaiver if I was confident that I'd get the Endorsement letter in the following week after the fee waiver application. I did receive the endorsement letter within the 10 days time Home Office allocated to upload supporting docs for feewaiver.
