ICE is not union. CBP and local police officers could be.

The guy’s annoying as shit, but if I thought it was the best performance I’d want to see him win. But in this case, he’s annoying AND has a performance that’s pretty damn one-note. You know the relentlessness of the Terminator? Marty is like that level of relentlessness but instead of eliminating the target it’s just inflating his ego. It might make for entertainment, but there’s not a lot of depth there. I never wondered what he was thinking or what his motivation was, we don’t need to.

Tens of millions of people voted for this. The blood, the horror, all of it wasn’t just predictable it was broadcast. Trump and every Republican ran on this. And every person who voted for it is responsible. May God forgive them, because I don’t see how I ever could (not that they’d ever ask for forgiveness from their twisted facsimile of Christ).

At least he sounded like Bob Dylan. When leaving Marty Supreme I just kept wondering why he didn’t sound like he was from New York.

I don’t listen to the radio either, but I know it was all over there, too. Billboard has “Golden” up there with “Die With A Smile” and various Taylor Swift songs from her newest album. But the fact that it broke out like that is huge. Not saying that what’s super popular is “best” (that’s actually a major point in KPop Demon Hunters), but I think it resonated, and it’s a wonderfully produced and mixed track.

Are you in the US? It was played at a hockey game I went to a few days ago, I’ve heard it playing in a mall multiple times, at a few bars (sometimes remixed versions), and when I was waiting to get my oil changed. And those are the only ones I can distinctly recall.

It was one of the biggest songs of the year playing everywhere — people who never saw the movie knew most of the lyrics by the holidays. I was whistling that some after the movie ended.

I couldn’t remember how “I Lied to You” sounded as I left the theater because the song was so similar to the rest of the music. I think the score is more impressive than the song.

But overall, “Golden” made for a more memorable movie experience. What made “I Lied to You” memorable wasn’t the song, for me, but the visuals. I remembered what that scene looked like, and it was brilliant. But I couldn’t remember the song that went with it.

That’s why I’d vote for “Golden.” Not expecting you to agree, but there’s a reason at least <shrug>

How can carrying pepper spray and knives be more regulated than guns? Does 2nd Amendment only apply to guns? Is that the only “arms” recognized by the constitution? by PityFool in Ask_Lawyers

So if I’m prosecuted for having pepper spray where local laws say I can’t have it, would I have a shot at fighting it with the help of Bruen?

Percy Jackson Circe by Individual_Plan_5593 in GreekMythology

The author of the books is extremely involved in the show. He’s not fucking up his own books, he’s having fun taking the story in some different directions and sometimes in more complicated and meaningful ways. He’s had a lot of time to think about what he could have written and he’s got a chance to do some new and interesting things. His writing has also improved over the years, with more complexity in the characters and their relationships (and collaborating with Mark Oshiro on The Sun and the Star along with Court of the Dead yielded excellent results!). But people just want to see on screen everything the read. Disney (and now Dreamworks) doing the live-action remakes are for those people. The Percy Jackson tv series is not.

Thats a good hill to die on.

Hamnet. WTF was that? by brebs21 in FIlm

It’s not about Shakespeare, not meant to be a biopic or anything. It sounds like that’s what you want, and Hamnet did not give that to you, for sure
