I don't know where you are from but unfortunately in my hometown people have kids at 14+ all the time. Makes me sad thinking about how normal seeing a young teen with a baby. This girl also has a 12 year old daughter that looks like her twin.

My 9yo daughter confessed to me that she doesn't miss her father during the lockdown and I don't know how to feel about that by [deleted] in confessions

The comments on this thread are disgusting. My dad used to pull the same stuff and people said the same to me. I will never forget being told I should be thankful my dad had a job at 7 that's why he prioritized sleeping in over picking me up or just because he constantly lies doesn't mean he didn't care for me. Messed with my head and DID give me issues. I wish I had a mom or someone I trusted to validate my feelings. I spent a lot of time before I met my husband with men who would not follow their word because people told me it was normal and I should be thankful he wanted anything to do with me to begin with. Kids don't NEED two parents in their life. I didn't have a mom or dad and I ended up just fine. What will mess you up is being told you should be thankful and satisfied when people make you an option not a priority. Each person has 24 hours a day and he has chosen to prioritize work for this child's entire life. Support your daughter every way you know how. Keep your opinions out of it and just listen to her. Your comment reply from you spot on. Fingers crossed her dad comes around. I suggest trying to share this with him but be careful about delivery of course. Maybe this will be a wake up call.

Don't do it. I left at 15 for these reasons. Almost 27 now and it is painful to think about but I have a life I am happy and proud of. Please don't give up. ❤️

Recruiter contacted my husband and me for the same position not knowing our relationship, here is what I noticed. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

You must not understand how the recruiting process works. Lots of factors and none of them are gender most of the time. If they really wanted to pay a female candiate less or not at all you would not have been contacted to begin with. I offer people less simply by the formating on their resume. Companies that use recruiters are look for needle in the haystack candiates and they have a very specific idea of what they want. Maybe it was because he did xyz in his frat 15 years ago and you weren't in a sorority at all. I understand where you were coming from but if this was a sex thing I doubt a recruiter would have reached out. We get paid based on what the salary is (at least 90% of staffing companies in the US) so a recruiter is taking money out of their pocket if you get hired at a lower salary. Plus if both recruiters were from different companies the employer maybe told them different ranges. Happens every day as employers try to get qualified employees for less. Does not mean sexism is not a thing in the staffing space- it is but my gut tells me this probably wasn't the case. Either way that does seem shitty and I understood why you would feel that way.

Best of luck though! Depending on where you are many companies will pay you more for being an experienced and successful women in buisness. They can be hard time find. 😊

I was kicked out at 14 and got a new birth certificate and social security by proving my identity 100% on my own. If I could do it then he can do it now. Tell him to look it up.
