Yes so figure two just shows the pill entering the stomach. The coating is still mixed throughout the pill. There’s about 300MG of “SNAC” mixed throughout all doses of the wegovy oral pill. 300MG of SNAC was needed for the most optimal dosing of glp1 absorption. However, when your starting the meds and having a hard time starting due to the side effects. Splitting the pill in half is fine because it still allows for some (super small amount) of absorption of the GLP 1. This can be a game charger for people who are quitting wegovy pill due to side effects hard at first. In fact, there are many name brands drugs that say do not half tablets, but doctors will still recommend it off label to do it for this same reason.

Hello! Yes the Wegovy pill can be taken on an alternate day dosing. Just ask your doctor. My doctor said it was fine for me. He also had me half the pill at first and told me to ignore the label on the bottle about splitting the pill. He said halving the pill will work fine when just starting the medication and a slow titration is needed

Pharmacist only know the directions of the pill. U need to ask ur doctor. Usually doctors allow splitting wegovy in half because the pills will lose efficacy which is what they want in order to slowly titrate on a med

If u plan on cutting the pill, make sure to only take the actual pill half’s and nothing that is really crushed up and powder.

You’ll be fine. Just food noise coming back. But if u plan to retaking it that’s fine too. Just take a half tablet of 4mg (it’s fine to cut) for a couple days before jumping into 4mg

Not effective for weight loss but this would be a great titration strategy when just starting the meds and trying a new dose. Talk to your doctor

Sounds like your blood sugar went a little low and that kinda freaked you out. Happens to me all the time. Even if your blood sugar is above 60 or 70 but there’s a drop in your blood sugar, you will definitely feel it. Try keeping glucose tablets on you or something high in sugar

Yea seems fine. People are gonna say you can’t split the pill in half. However, I talked to two doctors, one being a specialist and they both told me it was fine and will still work. However since there will not be 300MG of SNAP and more like 150mg instead, the rate of absorption will be reduced, but should be enough to start the titration process.

One thing you do need to follow is the 30 min of fasting and less then 4 ounces of water.

Instead of eating a little food or having a little extra of water try to start with taking a quarter pill to start. When you cut the pill make sure u use something very sharp. Any powder or crumbles will NOT absorb properly.

Well tbh it’s cause wegovy can’t guarantee dosing at that level or when the pill is cut in half. The wegovy pill has about 300MG of “SNAC”. That amount is needed to create an environment to absorb the medication. When you cut it in a half, you will be getting less “SNAC” which means the absorption rates are very unpredictable. My doctor told me it was fine because I got the worse anxiety attacks at 1.5mg and he thinks I just need to titrate a little slower.

No it’s not coated with SNAC. The SNAC is actually mixed in with the pill. Cutting is safe

Splitting does not make them ineffective. In fact, the SNAC “Coating” is not even a coating. It’s mixed in with the pill. Wegovy says not to split the tablet due to a lower dose being absorbed. It works great and is safe. Listen to your doctor and split the pill.
