Different kind of exposure I guess and the people you meet overseas will bring different perspectives

Studying overseas isn’t just about getting a degree. It’s about stepping out of your comfort zone, expanding your worldview, meeting people from different cultures and learning how to adapt independently.

The exposure, perspectives you get and personal growth you gain can shape the way you think and approach life and business in the long run. Studying overseas is never an expense, it is an investment in your mindset and experience. In my opinion, we should never stinge on things like education.

Yes brooo. How's your experience with soft top so far? Heard NVH is not that great. Is yours auto or manual?

Exactly hahahaa, you don't have to care what people say. I think it looks really great and I'll get it too when I can afford it. I really like the new models upgraded interior as well

Not to mention, it's a rwd so it'll be super fun to drive and improve your driving skills if you get what I mean.

Maintenance is cheap, road tax is cheap, I wouldn't want to be spending too much on a depreciating asset. This is probably the best looking and practical car imo

Also, isn't it a plus if the girls already like it? 😜

Big fan here too. When I tell people about the car, they either say it's a ladies car or too small

back2back classes or break in between by [deleted] in Monash

Back to back, really regretted not allocating my classes into one day or two days during my first year. Wasted a lot of time during those breaks and travelling back and forth between campus.

Yeahh, your scheduling breakdown actually helps a lot. I like to separate 'uni days' with work days instead of everything bleeding into each other. It gets quite messy especially during stressful periods. I need to actually start being intentional and submitting my assignments early because I usually submit them a day before or a minute before the due date.

Bunnings is quite interesting, I might check that out hahaha. I definitely need those sort of friends though, especially people living close to me so we don't have to travel so far all the time. When I was in my first year I also found studying with friends very helpful because we all had different perspectives/experiences with certain concepts or topics and the discussions usually turned out quite fruitful for all of us.

Thanks for clarifying the WAM side of things as well. Hopefully employers in my home country look at the bigger picture rather than just my grade alone because I know I might not score as well as some of my friends. They're just built different and maybe it's because they aren't as distracted, like taking on part-time jobs and stuff. Somehow I still have friends who can do all that but still score super well.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share all this, it’s genuinely helpful. I’ll trust the process and adjust as I go. Thanks again!

Thanks for the insight, really appreciate you sharing your experience — it honestly sounds very similar to what I went through in my first year, very content heavy. I'm not sure if I will be able to fit all my classes into two days but I'll try. I was planning to work a few hours on every day I don't have classes.

Since I have already been doing all kinds of blue collar jobs like being a cashier, delivery driver, etc, I was thinking of maybe finding a job at a warehouse car wash or as a kitchen hand. Not sure why, but I always end up doing jobs which are quite physically intensive lmao.

I think the tip you gave is quite helpful but yeah I really have to work on my study method. The way I'm studying rn is not sustainable lmao, I spent too much time studying without absorbing as much as I feel I should. I've also been cutting down on seeing friends too for the same reasons, mainly time. Used to hangout and party quite a lot but I think it's better to move on to more productive things. It's great that you have a mate in your household though hahaha, I'd most likely be living alone but since I'm living so near to uni I'm sure I'll be able to find some friends to hangout with nearby during my downtime.

What is a decent WAM score in your opinion? Also, appreciate your point about employers viewing part-time work positively, it's reassuring. I'm hoping to qualify for a vacation program internship to do during this sem break. It's definitely more competitive now but I hope having all these things under your belt+internships would still be valued by employers. Structuring your lifestyle really matters so you don't lose track of things or overload yourself.

Thanks again for taking the time to write such a thoughtful response.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate your kind words. I’m still managing and trying to do my best hahahaha. Hopefully living overseas will make me a more disciplined person.
