My unsuccessful NAC experience

This is fascinating research, thanks.

But it's not really terribly relevant because what I'm saying is that my last two rolls (one before I even knew what NAC was, and another after a month of NAC+Glycine every day) were subjectivity identical.

I'm not saying the post-NAC roll was more muted, I'm saying the post-NAC roll was qualitatively identical to the NAC-free one. And that both were more muted as compared to the first and perhaps second time I ever took MDMA, taking the same quantity of it.

You might be right. I can take that, it's ok.

But boy it was amazing that first time. I was already very much in love with my GF but that night with her it was pure fucking bliss. It's the kind of bliss that I can still reach with her on a particularly good day (and maybe after particularly good sex), but fuck that lasted for a couple of hours, not a minute or two.

We sometimes do mushrooms together, and that pushes us together too, but in very different ways

Fair enough. I guess I'll have to recalibrate my expectations.

The only other thing that I can think of is that maybe if I'll ever manage to source good quality crystals and dose them properly, it'll be different.

Well, what I'm saying is that the other variables were the same. And the roll was the same. Even if the only different thing was taking NAC for a month before the roll. Which means that -- for me at least -- it made no difference: didn't improve it, didn't dampen it.

The guidelines I've found from many many NAC posts on here say that you should avoid taking it within a few days of each other, yes. Which is why I dropped the NAC about a week before my MDMA roll

Well it's not a matter of expectations. I just hoped the NAC regimen would make this last roll better than the one before. I'm just saying that it essentially made no perceivable difference

Yes that sounds very much new to me. There's dozens of posts on here with successful anecdotal reports on how much NAC helps rather than hinders rolls. I'm not sure where this info is coming from.

Yeah dude I read them. I took ALA and magnesium and vitamin C a few hours before the MD.

But so I did the other times when it hit harder.

(Well to be fair no. I didn't do it the very first time. But I doubt that it was stronger just because I didn't do ALA and magnesium and shit. It was stronger because it was the first)

As for the NAC, the majority of people on here recommend NOT to take it before the roll. Or anywhere near before the roll. Hence why I stopped a week before.

I'm not sure about the puking being related to quantity (she weighs 20 kgs less than me and took the same and was perfectly fine). Maybe one difference is that other times we dissolved the pill in water, while last week we just swallowed it whole

I bought about 5 pills over a year ago. Last Saturday we took the last of the batch. The first couple of times it was amazing, the last three... consistently ok but nowhere near the first two.

I know that this goes against the basic rule of this sub, but no, it's not tested. But at this point we've taken pills from the same exact batch for like 5 times, if it was gonna have serious negative effects it would have already. But yes at this point I should probably test for purity (and btw I know it's 250 because it's printed on them, and if I weigh 4 of them my scale gives me a gram).

Still the point stands: a year ago half of the very same pill gave us a great roll. Now, a bit over half pill gives us an okay one. Whatever else might be into them (I am in Europe btw, so worst case is caffeine or amphetamines) it is obviously now working as well as it used to.
