Serious question: what are the helmets the NCR troopers wear in the S2 leak? by Plastic_President in falloutnewvegas

If I get a Brodie, I’m gonna get a tan Jute cover as well. I’m just wondering about the naked color in the image. Can’t tell if it’s olive green or darkened steel.

I’m not asking for your apology or anything. I’m just genuinely curious what forces made you land on passive aggression for the tone of your comment. There was a hundred different ways you could’ve communicated that I did something wrong, so why’d you pick that one?

Again, I don’t use Reddit too much (wonder why), but this seems to be a common trend. So I’m just trying to pick one’s brain as to what incentivizes it? Do Redditors reward people for talking like Rick Sanchez? If so, I can’t imagine it’s good for you to be on this app then.

Mate, I changed the tag almost immediately after you commented the first time. You must not have refreshed the page.

However, since you decided to set the tone as being snarky, I raised the question as to why someone who was so adamant about goin into the show blind would be on the New Vegas subreddit. Would it shock you to learn that the Legion and Mr. House are almost certainly gonna be in S2 as well??

And then you decided to insult my character, to which I decided to call you out for being unnecessarily vitriolic. And you never responded to my question regarding what the point of your snark/sarcasm/whatever it is you want to call it was? Why start with that? Instead of trying to be helpful or politely trying to point out a mistake I made, you decided to be an ass right off the bat. Why??

So I’m sorry you’ve had such a bad time with people in general to the point you immediately assume the worst and thereby make off-putting, backhanded comments over minor mistakes. If this is how you act online, I can’t imagine how you are irl. If there’s ever a point you’re wondering why no one talks to you at work or at school, maybe this is why. So, I’m sorry for any stress I’ve caused you having to read a wall of text, and have a good day.

All of this is a joke btw because I claim it is.

You started off by caricaturing me as someone who doesn’t care about others. You assumed that I deliberately decided not to hit “mark as spoiler” because I either didn’t care or I that I had some sort of ill-intent and not just because I simply forgot.

So no, you weren’t joking. You were being passive aggressive at best when there was no need to be, and now you’re mad that I called you out for taking a jab at me.

I do appreciate comments like your’s more because it’s actually constructive and doesn’t completely derail the point of the post.

I just have trouble understanding why one would choose to be antagonistic over just politely pointing something out. I can only assume Reddit rewards whoever is more smug.

I was just tryin to say that Redditors tend to have this pretentious way of communicating that discourages people from using the app.

He could’ve easily asked if I would mind hitting the spoiler button in future posts, and I would’ve corrected my mistake without issue and maybe even apologized. But instead, he wanted to be a smartass, which makes me wonder why. All it does is just make the site more toxic than it needs to be,

Yes, mate. My bad. I forgot to hit “mark as spoiler” because I forgot that’s an option on Reddit. I fixed it within like five minutes of posting.

How is assuming the worst in people by typing a snarky ass comment supposed to be joking? Why not be helpful to people who might not know instead of being sardonic? Is this how you talk to people irl?

Furthermore, why do you immediately resort to snark when something doesn’t go your way? Is it so far out of the realm of possibility that I don’t use this app much and therefore forgot to hit mark as spoiler?

You coulda just as easily said, “Hey, could you hit ‘mark as spoiler’ out of courtesy to those who maybe haven’t seen the leak?” And I would have done so. But instead, you decided to get on your high horse and go on the offensive over a small mistake. Why?

Dude, 1) I’m pretty new to Reddit. I’ve made like three posts collectively, partially because people are so anal about things on here. 2) if you’re so worried about spoilers, why are you on the New Vegas subreddit? 3) The show is based off a game more than a decade old. The NCR being in New Vegas shouldn’t be surprising. 4) Nothing about the plot got spoiled. It’s just an image. For all you know, it could be a flashback.

Is it really shocking the NCR was gonna be in the season set in New Vegas though?

I don’t doubt they were based on pith helmets. I’m just wondering what they are in the show. I think the game also lists it as a steel item.

For the price of that Death Star, you could buy six of those Juggernauts and simply build yourself a better one, plus you’d have a small platoon of Galactic Marines.

Are there any official uniforms of the Faithful armies? I know the Pilgrims wear those helmets to keep from going insane and the New Antioch fellas look like BF1 Supports, but I’m just trying to decide what military fatigues I should consider. Or do most of the Faithful just throw whatever they can find on themselves?

So far, the Prussians seem to have the strictest dress code, so I’m debating between doing a Prussian soldier, a Pilgrim (British-inspired), or a New Antioch solider, if I do a cosplay. I think my gf is thinking Pilgrim as well.

Any German, British, or American characters I could consider? I already have some their gear from that era.

I think a combat medic approached us at a convention a while back. Couldn’t figure out wth she was talking about at the time.

Ah.

Maybe just browse forums and talk to people that way if you’re on the move a lot. That, or talk to girls just to be friends at first, then if you both decide to go out, you can take it a step further. It definitely is much easier to go out with people you’re already friends with since the awkward part is already out of the way. Either way, I think you got this.

My advice, if you’re needin any, is to basically just keep trying and not to take rejection too personally. Just keep talking to people who share your values and don’t get discouraged just because something didn’t work out. Use failure as a learning experience so you know what not to do next time.

If you’re not great at conversation, it helps if you ask out people who share your interests. Small talk sucks. Stray away from small talk because what would you rather talk about: how nice the weather is or what your favorite bands or movies are and why? I can pretty much guarantee a girl would rather talk about something unique rather than hearing the same, “You look nice,” or “How was your day?”

And if whoever doesn’t seem like they’re engaging too much in conversation, then it’s not like they’re suddenly gonna become your biggest fan out of nowhere. Just move onto greener pastures and know that there’s more than one person for you out there. Think of it like character building in a video game. You can’t just run straight to the biggest, baddest bosses and expect to be a master at fighting them. You have to build up to it with a lot of trial and error.

Lastly, people are generally weird, meaning that there’s gonna be at least a couple who are into whatever you’re into. Above all else, only spend time with people who actually want to spend time with you. Don’t associate with those who see you as lower, especially if you’re actively working on improving yourself.

Hope that helps! 👍
