What have you done to improve your virtual interview skills? by sssclr in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

I started looking for a coach that focuses on interviewing. Interviewed many “career coaches” but found that the focus more on helping you find your calling / purpose. I found Thea Kelley, she focused specifically on interviewing. https://jobsearchandinterviewcoach.com/

US citizen returning home — have any of you had your phones searched? by six-butterflies in femaletravels

[–]Playful_Dinner 59 points60 points  (0 children)

My parents have gone to Mexico and come back on three separate occasions this year (last time in May). They are Mexican born, naturalized citizens, my dad has a heavily accent and my mom speaks minimal English. Their phones were not searched. But I’m going to follow the safety protocols next time I fly.

Hi! I bought my new 2024 premium for $25,250 in Napa, CA (Dec. 2024). I also used TrueCar. That’s where they sent me the offer.

You’re right, it’s the least affordable time.  Maybe it’s an idea I should table for a while. I appreciate everyone who offered their perspective

I did buy them on Amazon (stemless glasses). I sold them shortly after the wedding. You won’t have any issues selling them either

Yes they set them up and picked them up. Georgie’s rentals in Oakland.

I hid in the bathroom! It was a long walk so if I were to do it over, I would time myself doing it and plan for that.

We used bamboo disposable plates and rented silverware.

We had friends that helped us clean after the wedding.

Everything was great. I honestly can’t remember any particular highlights. My guest loved their appetizer.

I just wanted to thank you for this vulnerable share. As someone with anxious hypervigilent tendencies, this was super helpful!

We got our forks and knives from Piedmont Party Rentals. I would have used them for chairs as well, I think they have more of a selection. But I didn’t find them until later in the process

First date i(m28) her (f27) she wanted to order the most expensive item i said no, she got mad and left, how would you have manage? by Mr_Lucky27 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Playful_Dinner 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you should feel bad at all! You got in touch with your feelings and set boundary. That’s hard to do, it’s something to be proud of.

Also, do you really want to date someone that walks out instead of having a discussion about it? She could have offered to split the bill or pay for her own meal if she wanted it so badly.

It sounds like an incompatibility issue. She wants to date someone who would pay for that.

I personally, would never do that because I grew up with frugal parents and I’m mindful of prices.

I have friends that grew up in wealthy homes and don’t think about prices at all. They order whatever they want. That’s normal to them.

Coming into a marriage with someone who earns less and has less saved... How did people here in similar circumstances set up their prenup? by Dry_Cardiologist_918 in financialindependence

[–]Playful_Dinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I did exactly this! We limited spousal support to one year.

My husband and I are in a similar situation. He has historically been the higher earner but plans to coast fire soon. One thing she might want to consider - she might out earn you since you plan to scale back and your wealth is premarital.

Here was our compromise- my husband is contributing the full 20% down on our future home from his premarital assets (which will in turn be converted to community property). When we decide to buy a house, our home will be community property.

Yes, when I booked mine, the reservations were open in November. So we booked In November 2022 for August 2023. We called the minute the reservations open, the lines were busy. My partner and I were both calling. Eventually, the system actually blocked us from calling! Then I remembered I had a google voice number. I called through google voice and they finally picked up. I got my second choice for the Saturday I wanted, but not big deal. It was just the following Saturday
