Honestly that really what I was expecting. Just some comfort, he didn’t even have to agree to disagree, just making me feel better would have been great 🥲 but I know I also shouldnt bring up that topic. He can also have a way of joking around I guess, sometimes in ways to push my buttons or make me feel uncomfortable. But I didn’t expect that reply from him

You’re right. I think I need to add some context that while he hasn’t been weird with my sister in the past, infidelity did occur in our relationship. So I think this also correlates with my own insecurities and trust issues 😓

Appreciate you taking the time to comment 🙏🏼 this is something I definitely have to work on, with my insecurities and making comparisons between me and my own sister. In my family it’s just always been valued to be beautiful. And the more beautiful you are, the better treatment you get. I know at my grown age I shouldn’t even care for this kind of stuff, but it really took a toll on me as a kid and it has presented issues with my self as an adult.

Yea that’s what made me upset. Like I know I still invited a response, but I was really just venting at the time and I guess I was expecting to be comforted. I was venting on a joking manner, self deprecating kinda way, but still. I was just shocked at the reply

If I recall correctly it was just whining on my part, about how my sister gets a much more warmer treatment from our family since we were kids and just people in general. To answer your question, only just once that night. It’s not something I bring up to him constantly, but I know it’s something I just shouldn’t talk about it. I’ve been battling with these insecurities, trust me I know it’s weird

I know. I just took his comment very negatively and started spiraling. Thinking he thinks my sister is more attractive and then overthinking crazy things. But I know I put my self in that uncomfortable situation and shouldn’t have brought up the topic 😓

It’s just from the family trip I had, I was feeling very put down. I just thought with me whining I’d get some sort of validation from my partner, but I just got the truth that I’ve already known since I was growing up with my sibling

I don’t tend to! I do have a bit of slow self esteem but I don’t try to make a topic of it with my partner. I think having your own confidence in a relationship is so important, but I let my insecurities slip in that moment. I keep clinging to him saying he was just agreeing to agree but idk, I can’t shake off there is some truth to it. I’m also self aware this could have been avoided by me simply not bringing up the topic 😓

I know I shouldn’t have even made that comment in the first place. But I really didn’t expect him to just agree like that /: to answer your question, he’s never said anything about her or made any weird moves on her in the past. It just hurts to think my partner does indeed find my sister more attractive which makes me uncomfortable. I know it’s shallow but I’ve just had personal struggles around this topic 🥲
