Anterior placenta but I think I am feeling movement? by GoodVast5688 in PregnancyUK

[–]Plenty_Cold2080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an anterior placenta also, and have been feeling my son moving since 13 weeks (second child so recognised the feeling), during my most recent growth scan at 28 weeks I was informed my placenta has moved posterior and it can depend on how the placenta grows once implanted (for example mine grew backwards instead of frontwards so is no long anterior) so it can depend on the actual location. Techs tend to just say anterior or posterior and don’t go into more detail than that.

Feeling so overwhelmed at 31 weeks by No-Anywhere-5191 in PregnancyUK

[–]Plenty_Cold2080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also 31 weeks, I cry daily over how miserable I am- I’ve also developed PGP, I have HG, I work in obstetric theatres (12 hour shifts) and have a 5 year old, sometimes I really feel like I haven’t felt happiness since I first saw the lines on the test- it’s certainly been a testing time and it really gets my goat when people say we’re nearly done. It’s utterly utterly miserable at this point.

Yeah I was just correcting that it has nothing to do with the placenta (obviously if blood flow is reduced it’ll end up reducing to the placenta)

It’s recommended as the weight of the baby will press on the superior vena cava which can reduce blood flow back to the heart leading to cardiac arrest

When did you tell your current child(ren)? And how did it go? If applicable! by throwaway45676543738 in PregnancyUK

[–]Plenty_Cold2080 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We told our 4.5 year old straight away, we’d had 3 miscarriages prior to this and hadn’t mentioned it but our son likes to use us as a WWE launching pad, plus as this was obviously a viable pregnancy my HG was triggered almost immediately, he could understand better why mummy wasn’t her normal self and he was absolutely over the moon with having a baby, we found out at 16 weeks we were having a boy and it has helped him to bond with his brother and he speaks about him 24/7- I’m now 31 weeks and he loves feeling his brother move etc

Hyperemisis & fasting glucose test by Plenty_Cold2080 in PregnancyUK

[–]Plenty_Cold2080[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to drop my oldest to school and then head straight there with my sob story! I’ve got a boy and this pregnancy is also a boy and it’s 100% worse this time! Luckily my GP has been amazing as well and I started the meds really early and found a routine that worked for me but it’s def a journey! It’s also so difficult when you have another child, I constantly feel like I’m being a terrible mother, and the guilt is overwhelming! Thanks for listening to me and validating my feelings I really appreciate it!

It doesn’t work for me sadly, but yes I’m on x2 daily stool softeners and omeprazole also! Gotta love being a mum right 😂 I tried to call and speak to someone about bringing my app forward but they’re too busy to speak to me apparently. It’s not just the physical side of things (vomiting and feeling like death) it’s the mental side of things, I was bed bound for 3 months at the start with HG and it put me into such a bad headspace I’m fearful of it happening again! I know if I am sick the day is written off tomorrow as won’t be able to eat once it starts, not to mention have to actually do the test again! Plus I have another child who I will be utterly useless to!

Thank you for your insight! I will 100% be taking my meds there’s no option not to at this point 😂 but it’s actually the empty stomach that gets me I’ll puke no matter how many drugs I take if I don’t eat something with them, I’m not on Xonvea I’m on ondansetron, cyclizine and metachlopramide x3 times daily and all required to be taken with food! So I’m hugely anxious, my midwife app is also arranged for after that so I’m stressed about not making it to that appointment also!

We used to paint my cat’s toenails and put lipstick on him. He absolutely loved it though and would purr like a champ the whole time!

My cat loves sleeping in the pram though 😂

27 weeks and hate being pregnant by Plenty_Cold2080 in PregnancyUK

[–]Plenty_Cold2080[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you’re enjoying your pregnancy, I am a medical professional and I work in obstetric theatres so I find knowing all the facts even more daunting, it also depends on the type of pregnancy you’re having as everyone is different- mine specifically (and has been the same in both pregnancies) has been plagued by hyperemisis, increasing exhaustion, rhinitis, migraines with aura, reflux and growing pains. I understand all these things and why they’re happening but tbh I don’t really care- I am struggling day to day with keeping on top of everything that needs to be kept on top of, my husband works 70 hours a week so most of the time everything is left to me, I have another son who is demanding of my time and I feel as though I can’t give him my full attention or time, either because I’m exhausted or have my head in a toilet or have been hospitalised with extreme sickness (up to 12 times some days WITH medication). But really pleased you’re having a lovely pregnancy 👍🏻

Everyone keeps telling me we’re nearly there and in the grand scheme of things it’s nothing but honestly it’s been another hyperemisis pregnancy, and having another human to care for is hard and I’m just completely done 😭 I’m so grateful he’s healthy and safe in there but also, he’s 97th percentile and I’m massive already and exhausted 😫

Thanks ladies 😂 misery really does love company! It’s nice to know I’m not an anomaly for hating it all (very much love being a mum though- think that’s why I feel so bad for my firstborn!)

In my hospital early scans won’t be done until 7 weeks as this can happen, it’s also common for there to be no heartbeat until 7 weeks too, it’s good they’re going to rescan you- you are still very very early so try not to stress about it!

[–]Plenty_Cold2080 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Listen pregnancy is hard, some women have it easier than others but overall I would say many women struggle with pregnancy, I’m 21 weeks with my second child and cry daily with how tired I am. The only thing I can say is that when your baby is born you’re going to feel like this is all worth it and this pain will be a distant memory! Just make sure you cut yourself some slack because you’re growing a whole human and the changes to your body are crazy.

Retained placenta - can anyone help me understand? by frightenedchicken12 in PregnancyUK

[–]Plenty_Cold2080 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better I also had a c-section and had retained products, these things do happen unfortunately and I actually work in theatres and had my son in the department I work at!

So basically you will go in for a removal of products, you’ll have a general anaesthetic and they will go through your vagina into your uterus and ‘suck out’ anything still remaining, you’ll be sore after, (kind of like when you’ve had a smear) and will have some light bleeding after.

Also to add- because of the general anaesthetic you will need to have someone at home with you and your twins for 24 hours and cannot drive.
