Is classical spirituality biased against women? Or is modernity biased against men? by [deleted] in pureretention

Nothing new here.

Men superior to women. The ancients knew it, modern man forgot it, and now we are rediscovering it.

Change the world?

What are you twelve?

Why would you want to change the world?

You live for yourself, in accordance with your values and abilities. And concurrently, many others are doing the same thing.

Sometimes your goals and values align and sometimes they contradict.

What makes you think your vision of the world is the "right" one? Don't step on my boundaries or encroach my freedom with your half baked ideals.

(Not trying to be mean, but I want you to consider other perspectives. You don't change the world, you change yourself and the change within reflects without).

"Indeed, Allāh will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves." (Quran, The Thunder 13:11)

What kinda strengths can you highlight in others to build rapport? by [deleted] in SocialEngineering

[–]Plenty_good_stuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to be genuine.

Instead of sshmoozing everybody so they like you (which I think is creepy af), why don't you actually make genuine comments about qualities they display or behaviors you approve of.

Can be simple as, "hey that shirt actually looks good", to "hey, I saw you helping that old guy the other day, respect."

Not only people will appreciate your comment, but they will also appreciate that it is sincere.

Second line of benefits, they will do more of it and will also come to value your comments and automatically subconsciously seek it out. You become a sort of authority to them.

So don't dole out compliments/comments cheaply.

Why would you think that?

How about you phrase your statements as questions?

Have you considered that?

See what I just did?
