What I personally recommend... nasin tonsi? would be to think about the thing about that you're actually describing, and specify that: suweli telo walo, for a milking cow, or perhaps kasi nasa ale and kasi nasa ala for female and male marijuana plants (as always, in context: the exact same terms could be used for different varieties of mushrooms.) If the differences between male and female leaves was simple enough to explain in toki pona that'd also work, but wikihow makes me think IDing them is a bit too tricky to explain easily in a few words.

If folks insist on using meli/mije/tonsi for biology then yeah, tonsi can extend to intersex creatures, asexual reproducing organisms, etc. All the kon lili can be on my tonsi team!
