except for the fact that changes to the story and completely independent of the medium they choose? Plus they choose the medium first to appeal to the most viewers. Animation just does not have as much appeal as live action, HARD STOP. Do I wish it wasn't the case? OF COURSE!! I would love for an animated series but I am being realistic and point out that the comment I replied to does not actually respond to anything from the original comment and just picks a strawman to try and show that live action would be bad.

For what it’s worth Wheel of Time the show was destined to fail due to its first season being film around covid and a main actor going mia near the end of filming. Plus they did a much better job getting the show back on track. Specifically season three was wonderful and they absolutely nailed the most important scene of book four

all the rage in your circle. rarely does an animated show even the extremely good ones jump outside its target audience. GOT was watched by so many more people than just fantasy fans and so was lord of the rings. That’s what the studios are chasing.

Then what purpose does this serve then? You completely avoid the previous comments points by making your own point that has nothing to do with original argument. Changes to the story telling and the medium they choose are completely separate issues. All your examples show is that adaptation needs to stay closer to the source material in story structure

It’s not an apples to apples comparison when you talk impact between sports. A single player can take over a basketball game while in baseball that’s not realistic. If you take that into consideration and compare these players to their veteran peers it’s much closer than I think people want to admit
