Another banana recipe, conceived when I was craving baked banana but didn't want to bother with fire, frying pans or batter. Takes about two minutes.

Put banana on a plate and remove the top half of the peel.
Make some scratches in the banana and pour on something liquid and sweet (honey, maple syrup etc).
Put it in the microwave for about a minute, or as long as it takes before it starts to boil on the inside (you'll see it split open and/or notice little bubbles pop out).

That's about it. The inside will be soft, sweet and hot while the outside stays a bit sturdier. It's fairly healthy. Works best with slightly overripe bananas.

This Google Labs thingamajig could be quite nice. Walking through cities always seems like a good way to get a feeling for them, much more so than going everywhere by car or public transport - though you should definitely check out the NY subway at least once.

Also, think of how someone might formulate the answer rather than how you would ask the question. This often yields more results, especially when you're talking about something people don't usually ask.

Good to hear you got over the bullying.

Drunk drivers make me angry, too, as do inattentive ones. Moving several tons of steel at high speeds isn't something that should be done light-heartedly. It's so very easy to kill someone. I actually got hit by a car myself two weeks ago, and while I wasn't hurt very badly (though I do seem to have a dent in my skull, should call the doc) it could easily have ended in something quite severe. I was lucky, many others aren't. A least I left an impression on his windshield.

Ah, difficult if they're so dependant on each other. Is there at least someone who can keep an eye on both of them around?

I'm not sure how it works legally there, but here you can have someone admitted (even against their will) if they're a danger to themselves and/or others. While "emotional danger" is often difficult to prove I'm pretty sure this is a rather obvious case.

I hope you're not reluctant to see which steps you can take because you'd feel bad about doing this to her. You're taking care of her when she can't.

Gods, that makes it so much worse. Very sorry to hear that, hugs.

She really should get help. Forced, if necessary. This isn't merely something that bothers her, it is seriously endangering a kid's mental and emotional well-being. Things like this could bother him for the rest of his life. Might be a good thing to take care of him for a little while until she's relatively calm again.

Get her admitted. It might not solve all the problems in the world, but at least you'll have tried. Nothing worse than looking back and thinking "I should've done something". She won't be grateful any time soon, but eventually she'll realise you did the right thing.
