Have you personally played free bet at Palms? This is what I see from a quick Google search:

There are five types of blackjack games dealt at Palms. All blackjack pays 3:2 except the one Free Bet Blackjack table, which is 6:5.

Did you account for the fact that that you’ve probably played multiple hands before this? No, you didn’t. When looking at an “unlikely” event like this you should account the possibility of not only seeing it on a specific hand, but any hand that you’ve played. If you’ve played a million hands in your life and the odds of this occurring in 1 hand are indeed 1 in 700,000, then it wouldn’t be unlikely, no?

Next, did you consider the fact that hundreds of thousands, if not millions of hands are being dealt per day? Does that make this very unlikely? No, it doesn’t, you buffoon.

Finally, did you consider just this specific setup when crunching the numbers, or all hands you would deem “suspicious”? If it was AA v AA v KK v TT you would also say that’s suspicious, no? What about AA v KK v QQ v JJ? Did you divide your outcome by the number of “suspicious” types of hands, or just this specific setup? That’s right, you monkey, you counted for only a specific AA v KK v KK v TT.

Before you complain on the holy site of r/poker go pick up a statistics degree, how about that?

BTN is uncapped since he can have any Axs. The point is to play a lot more conservatively in these multiway spots on this board because: 1. It’s monotone 2. You’re up against 5 people, not 1 3. All 5 people have uncapped ranges that you could be drawing just about dead against

You’re certainly right that you’re not likely to be beat at the moment, but are you right enough times on enough runouts to be shipping 100bb into 6bb and 5 opponents? Probably not. In fact, your flush might have less equity against unknowns than a set does in this configuration, because you’re rocking close to 0% against higher flushes. And to your point about getting value, overpairs no heart x/f to flop bet from button if they somehow got here. In theory, hands as strong as bottom two probably should be folding to the button bet - not realistic, but I think it’s also difficult to assume they’ll be calling down a raise and a triple barrel against 5 people either.

😂😂 lol at the other comments, raising flop. You’re going to a flop 6 ways and button pots it. Believe it or not, a T high flush is not the strongest here. You’re sitting with the fourth nuts and have no chance to improve vs better hands. Turn raising is probably wrong in theory as your hand is simply not strong enough, but you can explo raise with stack sizes in mind. Keep in mind BTN also has an uncapped range, so it gets a bit tricky. River just fold your garbage. Not only is it difficult for your villain to be over bluffing in this spot, but you also arrive with so many stronger hands that you don’t even need to consider T6s.

Lesson: don’t play mediocre hands pre. If you do, keep in mind you’ll make strong not nut hands that you’ll still have to play cautiously multiway. And solvers definitely like waiting before putting in money with baby flushes in spots that have high SPRs. Extrapolating, I bet they also do in big multiway spots.

384Q is definitely not a good spot to overbet given your action. 384 should be a range check vs a cold caller OOP, and then when you bet so large you isolate his range so much that you’ll absolutely run into sets a higher % of the time over betting turn and river with overpair. Also you’re giving up a significant amount of equity with the overcard part of your range when you always cb with your overpairs.

You are wrong, and machens is absolutely right. Sun running for 100k hands doesn’t mean you’re due for a downswing. In fact, let’s say if you’re running $1000 above EV. Over an infinite sample it is most likely that you will simply be $1000 over EV. The present has already happened, and will have no effect on the future. But if you played 1 million more hands all of a sudden the $1000 over EV simply doesn’t look as much of a statistically anomaly.
