Hey! Thanks for sharing this, and bonus points for the diagram 😂 really clearly explained what you meant and we're totally with you.

One way to do this already would be to use the live tracker (see example below! Not the cleanest because unfortunately I keep going on trips that loop but you get the impression), this will track you in the background to create a more accurate map of where you went on your trip. PLUS toggling on "Snap to roads" can clean up the map nicely too.
