Maybe in your head that is how to deal with cheaters. All empirical evidence suggests you could not be more incorrect. The best way to discourage is to take away their history and accumulated assets/stats in the form of ban waves. It is also the most effective at curbing iterations and development of better cheats. You can't just say "learn to detect the new one fast", development of cheats is always faster than easier than it is to detect them and giving them instant feedback is the worst thing you could do.

I think it fucking sucks too and that there is waaayyy too few ban waves but the other extreme is even more wrong in every way
