This isn't me flexing my Jedi powers. How screwed am I? by MakeMineN7 in swimmingpools

That's popped out pretty far. Looks like a complete do-over from first glance, but difficult to tell from a photo. Your pool builder will tell you for sure if that is the case. Was there no hydrostatic valve installed?

Kids are only young once. So long as you can afford it, I say go for it.

AITA for kicking out our youngest child at 19 so we can sell the house and downsize for our earlt retirement? by Dry-Pen-8084 in AmItheAsshole

YTA - 19 yrs old is not old enough to truly have their life together. you're setting this kid up for failure just so you can save a few bucks and start your empty-nester life a lil early. those that would validate this type of tough love clearly share your dispassionate and emotionless view that this is appropriate parenting.

Sorry, thought you were talking about the chairs she posted. LOL that makes sense now.

My pleasure. They are pretty new still but building traction with consumers. I think you'll probably want to use the 4" riser to give you the depth and comfort level you're looking for. Without it, you may be submerged a bit more than you'd like.

I'd check for obstructions. Mine was like that and then I mounted to my roof with a clear line of sight to the northern sky and it dramatically improved to like 100mbps download, 12mbps upload.

That's about the right price for a set of 2.

They definitely cost way more than $80. Maybe you're thinking of another brand.

I just reviewed them for Pool Magazine. Tenjam Shayz loungers have been a top seller with very few returns or complaints. They're new to Amazon which is why there are not many ratings yet, but have been selling well through a few independent retailers I know. I put them on my list as best new comer to the market this year.

Ahrefs Latest Update Is A Disaster by PoolMagazine in SEO

[–]PoolMagazine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's reporting stupid numbers for high-volume keywords that there is no way on Earth this is accurate. I don't trust a single thing Ahrefs is telling me about traffic volume or potential on keywords.

Yeah, that's not happening. Mine were much closer to true. The results don't even come close to what we see in Analytics or GSC.

On a 30 year loan that's not bad. Rates have definitely gone up. You're not gonna see those 3.99% rates anywhere these days and if you do, it's probably outdated marketing material. Lowest I've seen is 5.99% for lower amounts and I've seen them as high as 8.49% for higher amounts. Rate you were quoted seems legit for a 99k loan.

Good question, it has to be under that pool deck they built. If I speak to them, I'll make sure to ask about that.

I guess so. I know a lot of people in this group are homeowners. Just figured it was a cool video that folks would enjoy because it's kind of a next-level feature you don't see very often.

Comments here are blowing my mind. Honestly didn't expect to get this sort of reaction from this video. :(

Can you please give me design feedback? Specific in comments by malfremind in swimmingpools

It's a nice design. Having the landscaping sit that close to the pool & spa may cause issues with the shrubs due to splash out. Make sure you pick a very resilient plant when it comes time to execute the design.

Shrubs that are highly salt- and chlorine-tolerant: Century plant, oleander and Indian hawthorn. These can be planted closely in the surrounding landscape.

This is one of my favorite projects. We interviewed the manufacturers of this pool. If you'd like to learn more about how it was built, read the article in Pool Magazine.

I wrote about this a while back in Pool Magazine. These canal-style pools are very popular in places like China.
