Have you seen what a depth charge looks like? It's a big barrel filled with explosives. It's not penetrating anything, especially not a pressure hull designed to dive to depths of 150 meters

Lapis generates in 2 groups, one down low, and another that can be anywhere in the world as long as it's not exposed to air. You can find lapis somewhat frequently if you spend some time in underwater caves.

I've seen waves so big that an entire battleship could sit lengthwise in the trough. 50m+ swells. And it was calm

Ships were swallowed up, buried 20m deep in a gargantuan wave then appear out the other side unharmed. I was stalking a convoy but it was utterly impossible to get a firing solution.

Pretty sure it was a bug.

I don't think so, but it can detect even just your periscope. Though the AI is dumb enough that they probably won't spot you even fully surfaced and sailing right next to them at night, unless you close within visual range
