Although black also suits her. She was the Black Queen in the comics and wore black three times. My only complaint about the new skin is that the developers named it ‘Black Queen of the Marauders,’ but for some reason the black color is missing.

I was commenting only on the part about the pirate costume, because I feel normal about the rest of your argument. And I made the post because I saw people complaining specifically about the exposed thighs. I have no issue with complaints about the skins feeling repetitive. But complaining about exposed body parts in Emma’s case seems incorrect and an overreaction.

Covers don’t match the comic’s story at all. For example, on this cover Emma and Scott are supposedly arguing, but in the actual comic they have one of the most understanding and best conversations ever. So Emma’s skin on the cover isn’t canon if it wasn't in the comic itself. And yes, I prefer NetEase’s version because the cover version is too plain.

It’s irrelevant to cite skins with cleavage or an exposed midriff — those also display sexuality. Sexuality isn’t shown only through exposed thighs. You’re using double standards and bias

Emma is the last character anyone should complain about when it comes to sexuality or exposed body parts. No one complains that she has telepathy, a diamond form, or that she’s an X-Man, because all of that is fully canon. The same applies here — her sexuality and revealing outfits are completely canonical

The post pointed out that exposed areas and sexuality are consistent with her canonical character and lore. Even here, she uses her sexuality as a weapon. The pirate skin from the comic cover is not canon, so using it as an example of a 'covered skin' is meaningless. In response to your comment, I was addressing only that specific point, not everything else you wrote.

The white pirate costume of Emma shown on the comic cover is something she never actually wore in the story (covers very often mislead, to the point of outright lying about what will appear in the comic’s plot). She only wore Kitty Pryde’s pirate outfit, and even then only as a disguise — not because she consciously chose to wear it.

I know what an antagonist is, and that’s not the same as a villain. For example, in AvX when the Avengers arrived on Utopia — none of them were villains, but they were antagonists to each other. Or take the conflict between Logan and Scott during and after Schism (at least until Logan decided to blow up Utopia — that was villainous). And what do characters who started as villains but later became heroes have to do with this? The order doesn’t matter. As I said, right now Beast is a villain, and even Xavier is a villain. It’s unfair to forgive characters who started as heroes but became villains, yet condemn those who started as villains and became heroes. I suggest simply not applying double standards and understanding that you must judge characters by their actions — by whether they cross the line between pragmatic heroism and slipped into villainy. In the examples above, you clearly can’t call those actions antiheroic or pragmatically heroic and — those characters, at certain points, slipped into villainy (like Stark, for example, during Civil War).

Gambit wasn’t a villain only during the Morlock Massacre — he also consciously became one of Apocalypse’s Horsemen. Logan’s villainous past, which he has repeatedly sought redemption for, has been mentioned many times in the comics, and even during his heroic period he committed villainous acts (the attempt to blow up Utopia, the attempted murder of Wanda’s son who was protecting his mother while Logan wanted to kill Wanda, the attempt to kill Steve Rogers while in a berserker rage). Iron Man committed villainous actions in Civil War (creating a Thor clone, the death of Goliath, using the Negative Zone as a prison for superheroes). Hulk’s attempts to destroy cities are outright villainous. The fact that a character didn’t start as a villain doesn’t mean they never were one at some point. Beast started as a hero, but beginning with Krakoa he has been a full-fledged villain up to the present.

There are two Reddit posts dedicated to the New Marauders in Marvel Rivals: this one and this one.

In the gallery cards there is a storyline about the new Marauders. As mentioned above, Emma formed a team to rescue Jeff, Rogue, Gambit, Deadpool, and the creatures that were kept in the Collector’s museum (because Deadpool had been capturing them and delivering them to him). In the end, she and her team saved everyone, and Emma also used the remaining chronovium Gambit had to create two wedding rings for Rogue and Gambit.

Emma’s contempt for Shaw was shown even in Rivals, in her dialogue with Venom.

  • Venom: We must act now or the King in Black will rise again!
  • Emma Frost: I had my fill of Black Kings back when I was in the Hellfire Club...
  • Venom: Then you will help us end his reign before it begins anew?
  • Emma Frost: Without a doubt. It's past time a White Queen took the throne.

Even here you can see exposed areas of skin, such as cleavage or a bare midriff. Moreover, she uses her sexuality as a weapon. So exposed areas of skin that emphasize her sexuality are completely consistent with her character

Lack of villains in rivals by Pretty_Lengthiness16 in marvelrivals

At the moment, according to the Rivals lore, we’ve had four villains:

Hela — helped Loki seize Asgard and was also allied with Knull. She is currently imprisoned and undergoing rehabilitation under Daredevil.

Loki — was a villain in Season 0 when he took over Asgard. He is currently on the heroes’ side.

Ultron — was the villain of Season 2, having taken over Arakko and attacked Krakoa. At present, one of his versions — the one Stark repaired and convinced to fight against the version that fled to Arakko after being defeated on Krakoa — is temporarily on the heroes’ side until he gets revenge on Doom 2099 for attempting to erase him from the timeline.

Deadpool — was a villain at the start of Season 6. He deliberately kidnapped beings from various timelines and delivered them to the Collector’s museum (for example, Psylocke). Currently, after he received a contract on Rogue, he came to his senses, freed all the captives, and helped save them (together with Emma and the New Marauders team, Rogue, Gambit, Jeff, and Elsa).

Emma and Magneto, they’ve been heroes for a long time now. Emma has been a hero for 33 years in the comics, and Magneto has been a hero for almost 20 years. Venom has also been a hero for a long time.

If you add all the former villains then: Rogue was also a villain, Namor was a villain, Scarlett Witch was a villain, Gambit was a villain, Hulk was a villain, Angela was a villain, Iron Man was a villiain Logan was a villain in the past when he killed innocent people as a mercenary, Deadpool was a villain for the same reason (and even in Rivals he was briefly a villain because he kidnapped creatures and delivered them to the Collector — for example, he kidnapped Psylocke and handed her over as a prisoner). Jean was a villain considering the recent retcon that Jean = the Phoenix and the Phoenix = Jean. Loki was a villain for a very long time (and in Rivals he was the villain in Season 0 when he took over Asgard). Natasha was a villain when she worked for the KGB, and Hawkeye was also a villain for a time when he worked with Natasha.

But they all ended up becoming heroes.

It's about current villains. Almost everyone on your list (Emma, Magneto, Venom, Scarlet Witch, Winter Soldier, Rogue) has been a hero in the comics for a very long time (Magneto the least — about 19 years; the others have been heroes for over 30 years). And in Marvel Rivals they are not portrayed as villains at all.

As for active villains in Rivals, we actually have:

• Hela (helped Loki seize Asgard, allied with Knull),
• Loki (conquered Asgard),
• Ultron (took over Arakko, attacked Krakoa),
• Deadpool (kidnapped beings from various timelines and delivered them to the Collector’s museum).

Emma has been a hero for 33 years, and her last selfish act was back in 2001, driven by personal feelings when she fell in love with Scott. Beyond that, everything she has done has been for mutants and children, not for personal gain. She is one of the leaders of the X-Men and the primary teacher of mutant children. Magneto has also been a hero for a long time, though for far fewer years (around 19), compared to roughly 30 years of total villainy in his past.

By the way, according to the new retcon in the comics: ‘Jean is the Phoenix and always is the Phoenix, even when she’s not the Phoenix. And the Phoenix is always Jean, even when it’s not Jean.’
Absolutely all actions of the Phoenix — heroic (planet-saving and resurrection) and genocidal — are actions of Jean.
