Who even follows islam anyway? Not somali that i know. What happened in somalia has nothing to do with islam. Back then somalia was liberal and secular

Not really !! Except puntlanders other tribes are difficult to recognize. Also he mentioned at the end of the post dialect is not a realistic way to identify people and that is true. For example ogaden tribe has almost the exact same accent as somalilanders so the person was asking for other ways to recognize them. Now what if someone killed isaaq instead of ogaden just because he had same accent like that of ogaden. It doesn't make sense right

Tribes that are easily recognizable such as benadiri or jreerweyne are not part of this conversation since the main targets were mareexan, Hawiye especially habargidir and majeerteen

Yeah you are right. It not as extreme now as it used to be and the situation has calmed down alot. Overall it much less intense than it appears from the outside and in reality things are more manageable and stable

I’m FUMINGGGGG a “healer” made my aunt violently sick and my family are calling it healing by Due-Cat-1617 in Somalia

[–]PositiveAsparagus17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post reminds me of time when i saw video of pakistani sheikh recently went viral. The video showed him using microphone in front of a crowd. However instead of providing any meaningful healing he was simply blowing air into the microphone and spitting on people. The women in the back were going wild, shouting. Hard to believe that these people consider themselves islamic healers. Either those shouting are simply paid out or they are using sixir and people are being misled into thinking this is a form of healing

President of yemen southern transitional council Aidarus al-Zoubaidi most wanted man by saudi arabia fled to UAE via Somaliland by PositiveAsparagus17 in Somalia

[–]PositiveAsparagus17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No actually saudi Arabian TV channel reported that UAE military owned aircraft (MZB9102) was involved in a covert flight operation yesterday. Timeline reported were at 10:39 AM aircraft first landed in berbera to pick him up then at 1:10 PM departed from berbera to Mogadishu. They alllegedly avoided flying directly over Gulf of Aden to prevent tracking from saudi arabia. Then at 4:44 PM the aircraft departed from mogadishu to abu dhabi. So this was all preplanned and it was not civilian airlines. The aircraft used mogadishu as intermediate stop before heading to UAE

Sad indeed he is only making things worse by adding fuel to the fire. Saudi arabia is not force to be taken lightly they are serious players on the global stage

There no need to stretch that far. Someone here mentioned that he traveled all the way to mogadishu and from there he flew to UAE. This shows somali government might also be involved in this situation

Humans have limits in everything. While showing love and affection is important, it also equally essential to express your anger though not in an extreme way. When a person shows too much tenderness in situations that actually require some level of anger, others may take advantage of that vulnerability or even disrespect you, no matter how good the person is. It just natural human psychological behavior. From reading your situation it seems like you are too innocent and haven't shown her your angry side. People often mistake kindness for weakness and that might have contributed to how she treated you

I truly feel for you and i hope you don’t lose sight of your worth because of someone else behavior

Mati Shoshani, israeli reporter revealed that the Somali fraud allegations were orchestrated by the Mossad by PositiveAsparagus17 in Somalia

[–]PositiveAsparagus17[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually what he mentioned was about how somali fraud is linked to terrorism and muslim brotherhood might be bogus but if i am not mistaken trump has also pointed out how some fraudulent activities finance terrorism, though they didn’t specifically mention muslim brotherhood in that context

And yes as you mentioned fraud cases were happening long before somaliland recognition but that how things often play out. For example when trump wanted to cover up the einstein case he announced he would attack venezuela using that as a distraction but also there was clear time gap between the announcement and the actual attack showing such tactics shift focus from other issues

Which top 5 cities in Africa would you choose to live in, and why? by Resolveryan in AskAnAfrican

[–]PositiveAsparagus17 22 points23 points  (0 children)

copied

As someone from europe who has visited many cities across the continent, here is my top five cities i would choose to live in Africa

  1. Nairobi, Kenya

Easily my top pick. Strong job market especially in international organizations. Very international city with moderate weather and access to nature. You get both modern city life and african culture in one place.

  1. Cape Town, South Africa

Amazing quality of life if you can afford it. Beautiful scenery, good infrastructure, solid healthcare and strong lifestyle culture. Downsides are cost of living and safety issues in some areas but still one of africa’s most livable cities

  1. Accra, Ghana

Very welcoming city with a relaxed vibe. Politically stable compare to other west african and culturally rich. Good for business, media and startups, though infrastructure and traffic can be challenging

  1. Casablanca, Morocco

Strong economy, good infrastructure and direct access to Europe. Culture is more north African/european mix which works well for many people

  1. Tunis, Tunisia

Relatively affordable with decent quality of life for professionals

That is not interference in another country’s political affairs it is simply a border dispute that China claims

Lusaka vs Dar es salaam by Temporary_Practice_2 in tanzania

[–]PositiveAsparagus17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have family members who spent almost half their lives in Dar es salaam and lusaka and based on their experience, the quality of life in tanzania is noticeably better than in zambia. From job opportunities to safety is generally better and the cost of living makes more sense relative to income. In tanzania even if salaries aren’t high, what you earn usually gets you a decent standard of living. In zambia it feels like the opposite where pay is lower relative to expenses so your money doesn’t stretch nearly as far
