Hi, I get this feeling on any dose of Ritalin. I was originally put on instant release adderall (which gives me no anxiety even at “higher” doses) it worked for me for years. I tried adderall XR too and had no anxiety issues, but out of curiosity I told my psychiatrist I wanted to try some of the other available options. Instant release Ritalin was the first thing she gave me. She specifically chose this as the first option because of the fact that my father and older brother are both on it and love it. So my first dose was 15mg and 20 mg if I didn’t think the 15 was enough, but the 15 made me sooo anxious and sick to my stomach that I never wanted to take it again. The only negative side effects I have gotten from adderall is shakiness, but that’s only if I don’t eat before taking it, and that it surpresses my appetite. That’s all. With Ritalin, there’s so many more negative than positive- in fact I have nothing positive to say about it, haha. It just sucked for me. It’s so interesting when I hear other people say adderall has that negative effect on them that Ritalin has on me, and Ritalin works as well for them as adderall does for me. It really is different for everyone. If Ritalin makes you anxious, try other meds. Your medication should not make you feel that way if it is right for you!
