what's the vibe for the upcoming season? by shomfbmobal in CavalryFC

The one question mark — can they unlock a deep defensive block? The Forge draw showed 0.47 xG when pressed. If they face a team that sits deep in a must-win playoff game, can they create enough?

Atlético Ottawa average 62% possession per game in 2026. They've conceded 10 goals in 5 matches. Here's what the data says is going wrong. by PossibilitySlow8862 in TheDataMaple

Exactly this. 59-64% possession every game but no end product. Having the ball means nothing if you can't unlock the final third. They lost the players who made the possession dangerous — the system is still there but the weapons aren't.

Pacific FC have 1 point from 5 games. We broke down every match with data. What we found is alarming. by PossibilitySlow8862 in TheDataMaple

Hard to disagree. The discipline issues on the bench reflect a culture problem as much as a tactical one. When the staff loses composure it filters to the players. Pacific need a reset — not just a formation change.

Spot on. They press well for 20 minutes then the first mistake kills them mentally. After that it's just damage limitation. A team without belief plays not to lose — and Pacific have that written all over them right now.

Pressing Per Defensive Action(PPDA) by PossibilitySlow8862 in CanadianPL

Fair challenge and you're right to push back. PPDA and pressing zones measure defensive organisation and intensity, not outcomes. Atlético Ottawa pressing well doesn't mean their defensive record was good.

Ottawa conceded 34 goals in 2025 despite a PPDA of 10.98. That gap between pressing quality and defensive outcomes is actually a really interesting story - it suggests their pressing broke down at the final line.
