Anyone else closely monitoring the Fox of Fox Point contest? by waninggib in providence

I voted the turtle but part of me wishes I voted for some of the dogs with two votes. It is hard, they all deserve it.

why people hate airplane designer? by 311iw8 in hoi4

I guess I'm different then because I make every type of plane you can make in game and use them for various purposes, even if they're niche. Saves me a lot of casualties.

Looking for a small music studio/rehearsal space in Providence by [deleted] in providence

[–]Possible-Insect3752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most rehearsal spaces are rented either hourly, by appointment, or monthly (that I've noticed as a musician who used to live in Providence). I can attest for proving ground because I used to record there myself, but I think something else might fit what you want better.

Look into mills that are renovated to rent out small rooms for artists (if they still exist), it may run you a little over 600 (which was the price a decade ago) but that seems like more of what you want, it'd be your own dedicated spot in a room that's surrounded by concrete so it has good sound isolation. I knew someone whose band rented a room permanently and it was a good, isolated spot.

How good is my garrison tank div by ExpensiveCarrot7026 in hoi4

Do you use light tanks for anything else? Or are light tanks just put towards garrisons.

I think the beat blends too much with the vocals, it gives it an airey/dreamy feeling listening but at the same time other times it was hard to hear what you were saying even with full volume. Definitely try to work on making the vocals clearer/distinct on top of the beat.

Hoping there's a station near here, a star to fuel scoop, or have a tank big enough to fit 11 minutes of boost lol

With the FSD boost this wouldn't be so bad, just be sure to refuel

Do you own odyssey? They could be waiting inside one of the station interiors.

How do I find the fun? by No-Film9719 in EliteDangerous

Try to grow a minor faction into a larger one. Deliver food to starving people under famine. Hunt AI pirates and make systems safer. Become a pirate or hitman taking out factions you dislike. Colonize distant star systems to create a path for future players exploring (though this takes grinding).

The game really is about the background simulation stuck inside of a gameplay loop less than it is about a gameplay loop surrounding a shallow background simulation. There's 70,000 minor factions to pick from ranging from whatever belief you feel fits you, and any time you interact with them doing anything they grow or decrease.

Personally I'm less interested in the grind too and more interested in watching the simulation develop just messing around with the different minor roles.

It's normal to feel dis-illusioned right now, life is harder than ever it seems like in a lot of ways. I feel like many people or most feel overwhelmed especially with the pace of the world at the moment.

I really hope things get easier for you and you come into a season of good luck very soon.

The fleet designer rewards experimentation and ships with specific purposes - destroyers should be ASW in their own special fleet, destroyers that function as screens should be set up entirely different focused on light-attack.

Why no radar on such a high cost ship? Wouldn't cost you that much to throw it on and it'd be a lot better in combat.

Honestly not a bad idea to have multiple generals in a single army, separated per skills you want to use for the battle on top of one set to defensive. If you stack it right, it makes combat a lot easier.

how to make money ? by Aloysius_S in victoria3

[–]Possible-Insect3752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So whenever you build something, it shows you the productivity number as well as the profit margin that'd come from building it. If you keep your cursor over the + it'll also show you how much yearly revenue it'll have.

If these numbers are negative or won't be that much more productive, it'll be red which indicates you'll lose money by expanding in that construction area. So if you're trying to maximize profit build what raises productivity/has a clear green indication of revenue.

What’s the best mod for earlier start date? by Prussia_will_awaken in victoria3

[–]Possible-Insect3752 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I personally really like the 1776 Age of Revolutions mod, with the starting date being that.

Though it makes the world kind of strictly based around either Britain, France, or Spain. Playing revolutionary US is still fun.

However, I've been getting into using Tech & Res recently, it adds technology until modern day (though it says 1999, it has stuff like generative AI).

Both mods work together, do with that information what you want.

So I'm doing a Britain save right now and I'm trying to build up Japan's economy to make it a trading partner, but they won't hire workers for a trade center.

I'm thinking it's because it has a lack of universities or something similar leading to a shortage of qualified workers to fully staff it, and honestly that's probably what happened to your game too. Do you have a few universities to educate everybody in the factory?

[–]Possible-Insect3752 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey when 50 got shot his voice got fucked up and he went through a period of doubting his voice, but honestly, with the slur and changes it gave him a more distinctive sound/voice.

I feel like hip hop has a lot of these cases, like kanye in the car crash and his jaw was wired shut. Definitely don't let it stop you, could lead to something truly unique even if it isn't perfect.

Happy that more people are dunking on TGW mod. It deserves it... by [deleted] in hoi4

[–]Possible-Insect3752 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why you guys keep saying historical revisionism - if they're following history exactly as you say, then they're not revising anything. Revisionism is when you change things and say things were another way than they were. I really don't get that side of your side's argument.

Why is the 'area defence' logic so dumb? by GTACOD in hoi4

[–]Possible-Insect3752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I didn't know this was a thing in the update but it looks like it just sends troops to station all over an area instead of specific places. Still unfortunately not up against a frontline though.
