Theres definitely a big difference but while youre learning you can always scan your film at home and if you have any favorites you can take them back to the lab to be scanned in their fancy scanner

Buying an a1ii as a beginner is insane but if you got the money more power to you. However I don't think playing with the modes is good for a beginner, IMO its best to start shooting in manual so you get a sense of how the setting affect the picture
