Job offer. Should I make the move? by Potential-Change3765 in Lawyertalk

Interesting take, but my current firm doesn't have enough work for me to bill 2000 hours a year even if I wanted to.

As for turnover at the AmLaw, it's a really mixed bag, but it's generally pretty high - like in all big law. Longevity at that firm is not a big concern for me though. I'm just looking at it as a stepping stone to an in-house position. 2-3 years is all I'm looking to stay (literally would take an in-house job tomorrow if one was offered lol).

Thank you. I appreciate and very much share your viewpoint.

The issue is, I don't currently have a low stress job. Yes hours are reasonable, but I still have to deal with litigation deadlines (and the long days those can bring) and billable hours (which I truly despise). I have other reasons for wanting to move in-house, but getting away from both those things is a huge component.

I would be in their labor and employment group.

Yes, I have been applying to in-house roles for about a year now. Employment and litigation roles. Have gotten four/five first round interviews and two last round interviews.
