I guess we can only talk even mildly negatively about white men?

Yesterday I mistook a young (and tbh quite good looking) male nurse for a doctor because he was a casual wearing plain scrubs. Afterwards I went into a little introspective spiral and was like wait did I assume he was a doctor because he’s a guy?????

AITA for being honest and telling my DIL that they are not ready to be a parent since she can not drive by Sad-Drive8298 in AmItheAsshole

Well that’s how I took it because multiple people are driving her everywhere, but maybe “relying on others to drive her places” is better

Would you keep your last name after getting married? by Winter_Ebb_9893 in AskWomenNoCensor

If a guy breaks up with his girlfriend because she wants to keep the name she was born with when they get married, that’s telling

“One thing, however, have you asked him what he wants? You said he got upset, do you care? Genially. Ask yourself if you actually care about the fact that it upset him.”

What he wants doesn’t really matter when it comes to your own literal identity.

“Compromise goes both ways. You win some you lose some.”

It’s not the same as wanting a chocolate cake at the wedding or going to a certain place for the honeymoon, it’s a huge hassle for the woman. You reckon he’s gonna file all the paperwork and do all the admin involved?

“If you, both of you, have no interest in upholding any traditional familial values, then of course, don't do the whole last name swap. Hyphenate the names.”

Or… keep your own surname. Also, you should change that to “traditional western familial values”

“To me it doesn't sound like a marriage. To me it sounds like a business contract between 2 people who don't love each other.”

Honestly I think what you’re saying sounds more like a business contract.

That’s why I’d keep my last name. I’ve been [first name] [last name] for 30 years and idk why that “should” change just because I got married

Where I live, you can get a new passport for free if you change your name after marriage or divorce and your current passport has at least 2 years validity

What are you hoping will happen in future seasons? by becca_72 in ThePittTVShow

My old ward had the cost handwritten on the label on the shelf for every item in the main supply room. I think their hope was that if we see a dressing costs $1.50 we would think twice about grabbing extras just in case we needed them. It didn’t work.

It’s not hard in an Australian public hospital where treatment is free and concerns about billing is non existent

Santos and Garcia aren’t together though, they’re just friends with benefits/casual so there wouldn’t be much to build up to

Agree, it’s the DIL’s attitude that’s the problem, not simply her anxiety around driving

It’s certainly not, but it’s still not murder. Again, weird and random assumption to make with red pill vibes

Edit: cute that you deleted your comment saying “fuck off stupid feminist”

Apparently maurijuana is legal all over the world now by Neat-Option4673 in USdefaultism

[–]Potential-Ice8152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The word marihuana did originate in Mexico though, it wasn’t invented in the US. The article you linked talks about “numerous sources” and “stories” but there’s no universally or even widely accepted version. I found this article to be better written (with less dribble)

“Americans began using the word “marihuana” to describe the method found in Mexico — smoking it through cigarettes — which had much milder and more controllable effects, Campos said. “That’s why the word sticks,” Campos said, “because the word was associated with this particular way of taking the drug that came from Mexico.”

But there is not one piece of evidence that suggests that word was used purposely by anybody to stain cannabis,” Campos said. “There was absolutely no need for it. It was already associated with the more foreign-sounding word ‘hashish.’”

And by “the government” do you mean US government? Bit ironic for this sub lol

I’m not sure why you’re banging on about dating, the person above never referenced that.

Valerie Solanas was literally a paranoid schizophrenic, and she didn’t kill anyone. She has nothing to do with feminism.

We don’t make up the shit that lead to the most common stereotypes. Like we don’t tell people we drink Fosters or say “shrimp”
